Anyone who blames the hitting coach for not putting the bunt sign on should probably just refrain from.posting for awhile..........

As I recall Prince was kind of a butcher in the field as well.......difference obviously is that when you post consistently good to great offensive numbers the warts on defense tend to be forgotten.......

Dustin May has not been good.

When is the date when the option decision has to be made?

He's nothing like that cheapskate Steinbrennber. There's no reason the Yankees payroll shouldn't be at least $4 billion. Yep.........nothing happens in a vacuum......

My recollection of the consensus on Burnes was that none of us could believe or figure out how he could be as bad as he was with the stuff he has...........it just did not compute. My feeling was his floor was an average major league starter.........there was no reason for him not to be that good or better.

RHP Jake Cousins has been signed to a minor league contract for 2021.

Don’t think defense was the biggest problem this season for Brewers. With Cain back they will have a quality defensive outfield.....Catcher has been fine.....SS fine.....we will have some new players next season but your statement about having poor defensive players around the diamond didn’t seem accurate to me. Hiura was really the only weak link......other then Braun in right field. Garcia played out of position which he won’t have to do next season. His main issue was throwing ......’thought he made some improvements with the glove this season. Bottom line if he hits he can play 2nd.......if he doesn’t you sure don’t want him at first or DH.

I doubt it.......especially considering the current economic climate and Braun’s injury history and age. But we will see.

That will not be exercised by The Brewers. If he comes back it will be at a significant salary reduction

He also was a great basketball player.......played fir the Globetrotters for a little while before committing to baseball full time. For those not old enough to have seen him pitch......after his 1968 season......1.12 era......they lowered the mound. That was the year of the pitcher......Denny McClain won 30 games.....Drysdale had the scoreless inning streak......

My favorite pitcher growing up........I was. Cards fan after the Braves bolted and before the Brewers arrived. This quote makes me laugh.....especially the Gold Glove boxer part ..... "(Hank Aaron told me) 'Don't dig in against Bob Gibson, he'll knock you down. He'd knock down his own grandmother if she dared to challenge him. Don't stare at him, don't smile at him, don't talk to him. He doesn't like it. If you happen to hit a home run, don't run too slow, don't run too fast. If you happen to want to celebrate, get in the tunnel first. And if he hits you, don't charge the mound, because he's a Gold Glove boxer.' I'm like, 'Damn, what about my 17-game hitting streak?' That was the night it ended." —Dusty Baker[82

Cards defense imploding..........hate to see it.....
  21. markedman5
So the Brewers scored more runs vs the Dodgers then the Reds and the Cubs did combined vs Braves and Marlins........with 1 inning to go for Cubbies. Impressive offensive prowess in the NL central.......
  22. markedman5
Garrett Cooper just goes deep off Darvish. 1-0 7 th inning
