  1. Burn a timeout and don’t convert the third down……
  2. That’s the way for the offense to show up out of the halftime break. Need to see the defense step up.
  3. Likely checking if Watson had stepped out-of-bounds over the end line and was no longer an eligible receiver. Saw the referee touching the earpiece like he was talking to the replay official.
  4. Need to see if the rushing offense can show up.
  5. Noticeable difference, at least on the first series.
  6. Might have to be a shootout win. Would expect the offense potentially to put up points. But expectations aren’t always met.
  7. Big pass plays to shift the field position. Score here should seal it.
  8. How hard is it not to line up offsides?
  9. @Matthew TruebloodThe last paragraph of the article is excellent: It speaks very well of the Brewers' major progress in their prospect development system over the past decade or so. The fact that it's becoming both expected and experienced that the organization drafts/international signs and develops quality MLB players bodes well for the longterm future.
  10. Seems like having Ross use basically a two-pitch arsenal and go all out for an inning or two has been getting good results. Could be a vital piece in a playoff series where it isn't uncommon for starters to be lifted in the 4th or 5th innings.
  11. Left-hander making his first career MLB start versus the Brewers.....no good vibes about that prior to the game. Hope to feel much differently afterwards.
  12. Feel positive after reading some of the comments earlier in the thread about Civale's peripheral stats and comparing his performance in Cleveland vs. Tampa Bay. (Maybe something in Tampa caused the negative spike?) More importantly, the need for starting pitchers to pick up the slack on innings pitched is urgent now, not just in August/September after the trade deadline. If Civale can be a competent, competitive starter, that will mean getting innings out of him for four weeks prior to the trade deadline. That should pay off bigger dividends later in the season, as there seems to be serious concern about overtaxing the bullpen with how the rotation currently stands. Additionally, getting a pitcher with another season of team control helps to bridge the gaps created with the injuries to starters in 2024 that will extend into 2025. You basically have to count on Gasser giving nothing next season; Woodruff is a complete wild card; no clue if Miley actually makes the comeback instead of just retiring. So adding a potential piece for next season is another good bit of work by Arnold.
  13. Yeah. I mean that Black has a very good eye at the plate. The strike calling system in AAA with challenges and automatic calls isn’t the same in the majors. So what may have helped him at AAA is harming Black in the bigs.
  14. Black’s eye at the plate isn’t helping him in the majors.
  15. Got the runners on. Need to cash in. Big spot for the rookie Black at the plate.
  16. Don’t like Payamps in the higher leverage situations this season so far.
  17. Definitely need the bullpen warming up. Might try to push a little luck against the bottom of the Cubs order. But need to have a reliever ready to go.
  18. Some good opposite field hitting on display. Needed one more big hit with runners on to create the big innings. Making Steele work a bit.
  19. Grand slam for the rookie! Chourio is starting to make himself at home in the bigs.
  20. UCL trauma Matt Arnold cash transaction Dallas Keuchel starts
  21. Buying as much duct tape and baling wire as possible to try to keep a starting rotation together. Not an enviable position for Arnold to be in at this point in the season. But it’s worth a shot to see if Keuchel can eat any sort of innings and keep the team in games. Throw that spaghetti at the wall!
  22. Excellent start from Gasser with 6+ scoreless innings. Hudson locks down the opposition in relief for the 7th and 8th innings. Offense shows up with a 5 spot in the 8th inning. Able to use Milner to finish off the 9th inning. Nearly a perfect start to a four game series against the division rivals. Sweet to win the first games in Chicago and Milwaukee versus Counsell’s team.
  23. Seems like too much failure to put batters away with two strikes tonight from Peralta, even with the 6 strikeouts.
  24. Held on to win. Some tack-on runs would’ve made for a less stressful end of game. But a win is a win. Good job by the pitching staff tonight to hold the lead.
