  1. Would rather see a Pena/Fischer/Henderson for Miller than Skubal...just with the control its an easy one for me.
  2. I'm more with the thinking of Only Pena,, Henderson, and Williams For the best reliever in baseball? And he has three more years of control? I do that because of this year to help our pen. I do that because Henderson is usually hurt after a 4 game stretch. I do this because of the ridiculous talent glut we have in our infield already. And we could trade Miller in a year or two anyways...ha. Would be a great trade...like getting Fingers.
  3. Waaaaaay off this season....no doubt something BIG is happening. The next CBA plays into this too and I think the Brewers can feel rule changes ALREADY that will hurt their depth and way of getting talent. And if we are so deep at infield and outfield over the next 8 years, why aren't we trading to upgrade our team significantly? We sit tops in the league in record too. And the fans want a big move! They understand the risk...but the risk is much smaller when you have multiple options already at most positions! It's like a perfect storm! If we get mashed potatoes and a roll instead of steak I'll be more than surprised this deadline. Sounds crazy to even write that, but i will be. It will go to the shocked stage of the 2022 deadline when we traded Hader. Overall, I THINK THE FRONT OFFICE KNOWZ THEY WILL ROYALLY KICK THEMSELVES IF THEY GET PASSIVE AT THIS DEADLINE AND LOSE IN THE PLAYOFFS. THEY WILL FOREVER HAVE THE 2026 WHAT IFS OF NOT GOING BIG WHEN STACKED WITH A MINOR LEAGUE ROSTER. Plan on a biggie.
  4. Wilson might start a game or three….ask him to get 4 innings.
  5. Wow. Early give up….I think it’s about a 50/50 game now. Flip a coin. Considering the way we play. Especially at home late.
  6. Not just bad at seeing if it is a strike or ball, Sanchez has no clue when it is meaningful to do it….early counts with no one on almost always is a don’t do it.
  7. How about running out a ground ball? He put more effort into the bat flip and choreographed actions rounding the bases. Glad he is on the team. Want to keep him through 2027, yep. Seems to be selfless with the pitching staff and good for their development. And he takes a beating well and plays through injuries. I have no doubt many catchers would have called it a season last year when his thumb was messed up. But I'll continue to roll my eyes just like I do with other chest pumping 12 year olds playing baseball or basketball.
  8. Seems like an extremely low price to get two potential rotation pieces. If even one can go 4 or 5 IP and give up 2 or 3 runs 7 to 10 times this year, it’s a net win.
  9. Love the extension for Miz talks….sure would be nice if a small market like us could extend him thru say, like 2031. Oh, that’s right, we have him thru 2031 under this CBA, at least. If he throws out his arm and never pitches again, we are not on the hook for even next year. We have a pretty good situation how it is right now with Miz’s contract.
  10. Right. You are right in that you left out he bats left, ain’t that right?
  11. Williams could very well be playing backup 3B/SS in Milwaukee soon if healthy…..especially if they are dead set against bringing up Made or Fischer. I agree Jett is somewhat blocked by others for meaningful playing time long term. But not as much this year….pt is there for the taking apparently.
  12. He might be taking too many painkillers…..better watch that. Just makes sense. He was supposed to have two surgeries by now instead of one. I’m guessing he’s dealing with a fair amount of pain daily. And if Murph is going to make the pitching changes….meh, I might rethink that. If you are drudging to get up and make that walk to the mound each time it’s needed, there might come a time or two that your decision to leave a pitcher in is in some part influenced by your desire to not have to walk to the mound. Keeping Hook in that role might be better this year.
  13. I think Peña has been included in some of these mock trades because of three reasons…. 1. He is a top 100 prospect, and we know to get something of quality in the MLB rotation, we need to give up quality. 2. We are likely not trading other top prospects that have been extended (Lara, Pratt) or have super star potential (Made) 3. We see Peña as potentially not fitting a position here with several infield top prospects (Pratt, Made) or for not being defensively above avg at any one infield position, which seemingly is a priority with the Brewers.
  14. Brewers players are on a TEAM. It is a presupposition that each is going to try to his utmost to help the entire body do its best. Anything less than that should be news and of interest, especially to the manager who majors in this kind of thing...making sure all are pulling together, for each other, etc. This isn't hero ball or a clown show taking on dares. I liked Murphy not making a deal of it publicly. But you can bet it got his attention.
  15. I am guessing Murphy told Chourio not again after the game...yet just laughed it off to the press not to make a big thing out of it. I mean, as a manager, this could really get out of hand with young guys in a blowout. What would the next "dare" lead to? Very slippery slope. How about if he hit with his helmet backwards? Didn't run at all to 1B? Got a hit and kept running until he was tagged out. Young males can be extreme idiots we've all seen when egged on by peers if no apparent repercussion or fear of consequence is there.
  16. Perkins and Black are obvious guys to remove from 40 man if they so choose to bring up a Fischer/Made. Fischer is white hot now at a mlb weak position, and Made is the #1 prospect in baseball. It's not crazy to try either up, not that I expect this. The option is there to try it though and not be tied up trying to keep others on 40 man roster.
  17. Why not? Why put limits here? If Hamilton and Pratt get hurt, I think one is up.
  18. If he can help us this year, do it. At least try it. Worrying about 2033 rules and how that plays doesn't make sense to me. Especially if the next CBA runs for only 5 or 6 years. Who knows what the clock looks like or how much $ we have to sign anyone.
