  1. Are these still available, Paul?
  2. Game over.........wow Or not.... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. It certainly eats up a portion of whatever finite financial resources Melvin has to play with. Perhaps Melvin already has a plan for upgrading SS but if he doesn't, his options are more limited now than they were before. There's really no way around that. Sure there is- Mark A tells Melvin to upgrade SS, and cost is no object. As I said, people keep trying to quantify what the Brewers have available to spend as some sort of 'hard' cap number, while Mark A has consistently gone over and above those expectations in his time here. Until he publicly says 'we can only spend x at the deadline this year,' we have no way of knowing what Melvin REALLY has available to him.
  4. Because it likely eats up all the salary room the Brewers have to work with. Every year people say this and every year Mark A proves them wrong, though.
  5. Holy crap. Not what I expected to see on here tonight after the ASG. Impossible to ignore KRod's value to the Mets as a 1-2+ WAR guy the last season +.
  6. I get that they're upset that one of their guys wasn't chosen and all, but booing a guy in his first one and basically ruining the experience for him seems extraordinarily classless.
  7. Good grief ESPN.... your forced overproduction of the Derby is ruining about the only good thing left about the All-Star experience.
  8. I think he has taken time off in the past to take his kids to college. I remember that as well, but I think that was only a couple of days, never a whole week.
  9. I'm pretty sure they've said multiple times he's on vacation. But I'm almost certain that isn't the whole story. A sportscaster doesn't just take a random vacation in the middle of the season when there's 4 months of off time later on. My money is on minor surgery or something like Rockco mentioned with his son.
  10. Disagreement and debate are a good thing, but please remember that swearing here is not.
  11. Come on ump, you're right there..... you can't do that!
  12. Certainly makes it even more mind-blowing that he decided to leave in the first place, considering our middle infield situation already at that point.
  13. I have to admit that making it close in the end has eliminated much of my anger about this game.
  14. Getting out-hustled for a rebound seems like a fitting way to ice it.
  15. Holy freaking crap.
  16. I'd be absolutely shocked if this somehow became a game, but it seems possible-ish.
  17. IMO, they're very similar to most Bo Ryan teams for the past decade. Couldn't disagree more. Sure, Leuer can play inside, but he doesn't play to the hoop in most cases. When they've had great inside guys like Tucker/Harris/Wilkinson/etc they've never been solely reliant on one player to play in there.... Tucker always had Wilkinson/Harris/etc, Hughes/Landry and so on. This team also lacks a true outside sharpshooter like Bohannon or Freddie Owens, Chambliss, etc. There's a lot of guys that are kind of good at doing a variety of things, and tonight it's not working at all.
  18. I don't know how this team wins 25 games every year. When the jump shot doesn't fall, they can do NOTHING. This is not the typical Badger team. There's usually a couple of guys able/willing to play inside.
  19. This is like the bad shooting of the PSU game combined with a complete lack of hustle in general. Absolutely brutal.
  20. Man, Wisconsin can absolutely not get a roll right now.... two layups that roll out of the basket on the first two offensive possessions. Just crazy.
  21. Putrid first half. Absolutely disgusting lack of energy for a Sweet 16 game. Terrible ball handling, Taylor looks lost, and they're being completely out-hustled on both ends of the floor. Blech. Wake the hell up, Red.
  22. Hope Leuer shows up this half And how. Nice, easy win for the Badgers against an opponent that was largely predicted to win this game. Great 2nd half all around.
  23. Well, the Badgers at least showing something offensively so far. The most concerning thing about the last few games is how complacent the Badgers have become defensively.... waaay too many guys cutting to the basket virtually uncontested against them.
  24. Tough to win when the opponent shoots 90% from three point range. Almost stunning that the commentators are saying that with Wisconsin's offensive style, they're almost out of time for a comeback.... completely forgetting the fact that they were down 15 to OSU with this much time left the last time before coming back to win.
