  1. I've never been able to actually determine if the 'not within the division' stuff is actually true or just the feeling of us fans.
  2. Insanity. In a lot of ways, it would be best for the Brewers for the Cubs to stay vaguely competitive so they get little to nothing (other than comp picks) for Rizzo/Bryant while chasing a pipedream ala the 2018 Pirates. Well, REALLY best would be to acquire Rizzo/Bryant from the Cubs, but that seems too greedy even for the optimism thread....
  3. Come on now. I know you're being sarcastic but lol. It sure feels like it, though.
  4. I can only assume the Suns are shooting 120% from three point range…
  5. Well, close enough that a run would make it interesting.
  6. That’s a makeup call for the flop on the other end, right?
  7. All the bounces are going in for the Suns. Brutal.
  8. Because he's 28 years old and this will be the last enormous payday of his career so if they are backing up the brinks truck in guaranteed money I doubt he cares much who will be throwing him the ball. Thirty one other teams can back up that truck too. He's probably going to be tagged, unfortunately for him and he'll be saddled with having to play with the Packers’ 3rd straight HOF QB instead of the 2nd. Fixed it for you!
  9. I mean, he did last year, so it's not all that much of a reach to think he could be in that range.
  10. Yes, the Germans were convinced Patton would lead the attack, and the Allies purposely put him in a separate place as a diversion...
  11. Thanks for doing the legwork on this. I think there's a lot of reasons to believe the 'couldn't see the ball at the Trop' narrative. If this proves to hold over the rest of the year, I agree that Adames may become a cornerstone for the Brewers.
  12. The truly interesting thing is that if they HAD used Hader twice yesterday, wouldn't that be using him 'as a weapon' in the way those that argue about his usage thus far are wishing to see? Yet this is somehow a bad thing?
  13. No, I think it's fair to note that he wasn't brought into the game and thus shouldn't be automatically assumed that he would have. How many pitchers in MLB have pitched in both games of a double-header in modern times? I'd bet that's the strong exception to the rule. When you factor in that there's an odd conspiracy theory about Hader that some have tried to foster over the past few weeks, I don't think it's unfair to question whether the assumptions made in the original post were flawed on the whole. But that's just IMO.
  14. The fact he was warming up in the bullpen, that's probably a good assumption. Because the Brewers have never used guys as decoys before? I’m pretty sure that the bullpen coach warmed up in the bullpen when Craig was a player on the team….
  15. Why is there an assumption that Hader would ACTUALLY have pitched last night?
  16. The batting average is extremely high in his favor. And as you'll note in nearly EVERY transaction thread, Stearns DOES NOT have the approval of the poster I was responding to.
  17. If that turns out to be the case score another one for Stearns but I will believe it when I see it. I'd think you'd have seen enough scores for Stearns that you'd stop constantly doubting him.
  18. I don't hate either of the Chicago jerseys, but the Boston and Giants' ones are truly horrid.
  19. With the addition of Tellez, seems like this is one of many coming moves to shape the IF going forward....
  20. I think Small may push Houser to the bullpen where I think he can be of better use. I'm of the opinion that a first-place Brewers team making a push for the playoffs won't hand a rotation spot to a guy making his MLB debut, barring an injury.
  21. Yeah, the way this team is constructed, a BOR-type guy isn't really what they need. Either acquire a guy that pushes one of our existing BOR guys out (ala Houser to the pen, etc.), which is much more costly and probably not a good use of resources, or address other issues.
  22. Quite possible that Stearns is trying to identify slow-starters to the 21 season as opportunities to buy low. They have to figure they've got a way to help his slugging rebound....
