  1. If we're getting a young pitcher back as well, okay. Otherwise, this deal really stinks. Sure it'll free up some money to pursue a free agent, but it would just mean filling a hole by creating a different one.

  14. I'm also holding out hope that we can bring Sheets back. Sure, there was speculation that he's annoyed at the crew for focusing on CC, but there was also speculation that the Brewers were the front-runner for CC. Sheets may look like one of the biggest risks on the market in terms of FA pitching, but out of that group he brings the highest potential reward as well, IMO.
  15. Thanks for the memories, CC. I wish him the best, but my hatred of the Yankees will never falter. It's sad to see him go, but this gives us much more flexibility this winter and in the future.
  16. If a Hart for Greinke deal could happen, I'd do it in a heartbeat and worry about RF later. Heck, I'd almost be content watching Chris Magruder roam RF again if it meant we got Greinke for Hart. Is Dayton Moore really that stupid, though?
  17. I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere yet. Per a Ken Rosenthal update, the Brewers are close to resigning Mike Lamb, and the Yankees have shown interest in Bill Hall's services.
  18. I can't blame him for wanting to leave a situation where some fans feel that a September win counts more in the standings than an April win.
  19. With speculation that the Brewers are raising their offer to close to $120 million over 6 years with an opt-out clause, it appears that a return to Milwaukee may be more than just a pipe-dream. While this excites me, it also scares the hell out of me.
  20. It's hard not to like these low risk deals Melvin has been handing out. Coffey was effective in September and even if he's only mediocre out of the pen, it's a solid deal.
  21. As long as I can remember I've liked playing/watching baseball. I came from a family of Brewers fans, so I was destined to cheer for the crew. My interest in the Brewers started around 1996 when I was 8 years old. As a result my favorite player was and still is #8, Mark Loretta. I would watch the occasional game that aired on channel 32 in Green Bay and listen to Uecker every now and then. Somewhere I still have an old APBA baseball game and set of score sheets that I received from my uncle around that time. Since then my interest only grew, and now I am here, checking a Brewers message board daily in the middle of winter.
  22. If Blake hit from the left side this would make a lot of sense, but with Hall on the roster, I don't see why we'd want Blake.
  23. I think that is probably the likely situation here. I don't see why Branyan would consider coming back to Milwaukee if an opportunity to play everyday came his way. He'd be a platoon player/pinch hitter in Milwaukee but could be Seattle's everyday first baseman.
  24. I would also be very disappointed to see Powell go. He's one of the best and a perfect compliment to Uecker. I'd always figured he'd take the reigns after Uecker leaves as the main guy. Hopefully the Brewers/WTMJ do everything they can to try and keep him in Milwaukee.
  25. If that's her only pitch, I don't see what's so special. I think she's gonna get rocked.
