We were bound to start losing a few against the crap teams, but pretty annoying when a team with 16 wins spots you 3 runs and you pooch it away with missed scoring opportunities, bad defense, and a bad LOOGY.
I can't argue with Albers given his results this year, but after Logan failed I really wish Counsell would have had Williams go. He has been virtually unhittable by righties, that was a perfect spot for him. That's exactly what I was talking about in the William's thread yesterday.
Not a bad pitch. I don't blame Albers who has been phenomenal. I blame the guy who we paid $2.5M for the one single job of retiring lefties and fails time and time again.
I'm going to be honest, I don't expect it to last, figured he'd get hot for awhile. But I'll certainly enjoy it while it lasts, great to see, and the longer it goes on the better. Great swing.
I'm glad to hear that. It didn't really bother me the way it bothered some, but he seems like a likeable guy and good clubhouse presence and I'm glad he wants to be here even knowing he's just going to flip flop between MLB and AAA. At least he seems to be the preferred extra DH guy.
I am not specifically advocating to trade Hiura but I don't know why him raking would put any trade discussions about him to bed. If they're considering trading him it's a very good thing he's raking. Better production brings back better returns. We don't get the luxury of plugging him in at DH like the Mudcats did tonight. So if he's a member of the core they need to be awfully certain of his ability to play 2B.
I like the idea of Davies going to the DL. They have a lot of days off coming up and a 5th starter is actually not needed until the Cubs series June 12th.
To clarify, I wasn't trying to say he's going to be limited to a ROOGY role long-term. Just that perhaps that's how he can best be utilized now. It appears to me that if 43% of his hitters have been lefty, we haven't put much focus to this point on trying to use him for righty heavy situations.
To me, Henry and Feliciano are way too far down on the food chain, and 2021 is way too far away for me to care about having to give one of them up. A lot can happen between now and then. If they want one of them for Realmuto, I'm sure we'd happily send back either of the two or Nottingham.
The Angels also had Ohtani fall right into their lap. Amazing to me that a team can have Trout and Ohtani can be hovering around .500. I don't know much about their supporting cast but they must suck.
