    A win today was little more than the baseball gods finally saying “you know what, you guys deserve a break.” But sometimes, that’s the kind of thing in this weird game to start getting things turned around again.

    Pat Murphy’s’ kids watching from home begging the Brewers to get some offense going so they don’t have to change out of their jammies and board an Uber to AmFam in an hour.

    And we just took out one of the guys who can actually hit. I’d rather stick with Mitchell lefty/lefty every time if the alternative bat is Blake Perkins.

    That was a bad move by Murphy that worked out from a results standpoint.

    He was only at 81 pitches. The way this bullpen has been pitching I’d have tried to push him into the 8th.

    He’s a top 2 pitcher in our rotation and at times I’m not sure he’s #2. Weakening our rotation isn’t the answer to our bullpen problems. I'd much rather take the bullpen first path with Gasser, Henderson and Crow rather than the guy who looks like a really good starter and at times gives us the most length of our starters.

    There is no way you can continue to justify this man playing every day for a competitive baseball team for yet another season. I don’t care if his defense is on par with the prime of Ozzie Smith, which it’s not.

    Wanted to add a wrinkle to the Pratt versus Ortiz discussion from last night. Made is 18 years old. He is dominating in AA ball in Biloxi. I assume he’s been offered or at least his interest has been gauged in signing a Pratt like deal (with different $ and parameters, of course). Hypothetically … if Made signed a 10 year contract, for example … he’d be up, right? There’d be no service time incentive not to, and you can’t say he’s not already one of our 26 best options.

    If Pratt cannot even achieve a Joey Ortiz level of offense at the MLB level, that contract is going to look puzzling.

    Made for sure. But we haven’t signed him long-term. In any event, the offensive bar couldn’t be lower for Pratt so I hope they bring him up sooner rather than later.

    Saying this with your restless child fidgeting next to you late night on a school night as you field questions from the media is as ironic as it gets.

    This is just weird. It is 10:20 pm on a school night. What young kids want to stay up late to repeatedly accompany their 67 year old father to a press conference and try to stay awake while he fields questions about a team losing streak?

    I’m ready for Pratt. He simply can’t be worse than Joey.

    Maybe Joey can get down on all 4’s and start barking like a dog and confuse them just long enough for Bauers to trot in from 3rd.

    I’d be doing that 100% if I were Toronto.

    Yeah, I mean I get the calls for Megill to be out as closer, he looks horrific. but…. Uribe hasn’t been good. Zerpa hasn’t been good. So.. Grant Anderson? We need someone other than Ashby. The entire bullpen needs to get better or it won’t matter much what Megill is doing.
