  1. It’s okay to be happy and optimistic about that while also still recognizing that there are internal improvements they could make to this roster.
  2. I mean we have three everyday starters with an OPS less than Collins’ .685.
  3. No one is “mad” at Blake Perkins. They just want him optioned. Or better yet, DFAed. That feeling hasn’t wavered from day to day.
  4. Good grief, Bauers. What a terrible throw. I thought he wasn’t even going to try it with 1 out.
  5. He would have just had the same result in a more favorable count.
  6. What continuing purpose does Rengifo serve on this roster over Jett Williams?
  7. Now 0 for a billion with runners in scoring position this series. Haven’t double checked that number for accuracy but it’s reasonably close.
  8. It is beyond frustrating to see guys like Rengifo, Hamilton, and Perkins continue to see MLB at-bats when we have 2-3 really good young MLB ready options available in Nashville. Ortiz belongs on the above list too but I’ll give him a pass today.
  9. Jett up to an .806 OPS with his 5th HR today. End the David Hamilton experience.
  10. He’s not a long-term answer for this rotation, that’s definitely true. We also haven’t helped him out today at all, either with defense or with taking advantage of the scoring opportunities that we’ve had, that’s also true.
  11. Yeah, I just don’t agree. If the squeeze is on, okay. But it wasn’t. At some point you need to be able to assume that an MLB hitter can hit a routine fly ball.
  12. In any event, the Brewers have had to work awfully hard to only have one run right now.
  13. Didn’t see the play, just heard on the radio. Was Frelick dogging it or what happened?
  14. I’ve just had it with David Hamilton. Get Jett up already. Your objective with a runner on 3rd and 1 out is to drive the runner on 3rd in. Not to sacrifice the guy on 1st to 2nd. Terrible baseball. If you can’t swing the bat when the situation calls for it, you don’t belong in a major league lineup. Murphy so desperately wants Hamilton to be good. He’s not.
  15. The scoreboard isn’t a huge problem, but you’re looking at a bullpen game today.
  16. That's the price you’ll pay for leadoff walks.
  17. I'm assuming that Rengifo can’t be optioned, but he’s certainly not bulletproof from a DFA. Perkins, Ortiz, and Mitchell all certainly can, and all should be on notice. Frelick isn’t untouchable. I am not sure about Hamilton. There are moves the Brewers can make that still preserve roster flexibility. Pratt coming up for Ortiz couldn’t be easier, procedurally. Bringing up Jett and/or Lara requires a 40 man roster spot, but they can create one anytime by moving Zerpa to the 60.
  18. The Brewers IMO really have a pitching staff that fits a piggyback approach very well. Sproat, Patrick, and Henderson all really fit the bill well.
  19. You had like 3-4 people here say leave Patrick in well ahead of the result.
  20. Please tell me Uribe is only warming in case Patrick gets in trouble.
  21. Perkins is approaching .100. It’s an old school pitcher hitting. You can’t keep throwing this out there.
  22. I see absolutely no reason not to just let Patrick take this home.
  23. I’m sure he is a nice person. He’s not worth much as a baseball player.
