    Would have realllly been interesting to see if Murph had stuck with Ortiz.

    It wasn’t the same for both sides and often did have a lot more than a minuscule impact. “Good at using challenges” isn’t some inherent competitive advantage that some teams are just lucky to have and some teams aren’t. The solution is to get better at using them, not just hope and pray that the randomness of umpire error evens out and doesn’t hurt us in a big game.

    Yelich is toast, man. Murph needs to just stop getting so excited when he goes on some random somewhat hot streak for like 3 games. It’s just baseball. You have an entire season of data by now and the news is not good.

    We need more ABS, frankly. Two challenges a game is not enough. Umpires can be wrong all day. If players are wrong just twice, they’re done.

    Looks like Boyd just dropped a changeup in the exact spot that Gasser hit and Kelly challenged it immediately. Kelly has been very good challenging today, far better than Contreras.

    I don’t expect us to be perfect in challenges. But we need to be training our players to challenge based on what exists now.

    ABS does not care about the entire history of baseball. Contreras has also challenged a lot more questionable ones than that.
