  1. I think a broadcast mentioned that it's based on whether the opponent starter is lefty or righty. Even though both Turang and Frelick bat lefty, Murphy prefers one over the other against lefties. I'm too lazy to see how true that is (the reason or the stats to back that up).
  2. The 2011 team felt like a team of destiny. Fielder ASG MVP meant NL had WS home field advantage. Great starters, hitters to out SLG any team, emergence of Plush... This year's team feels better. Bullpen seems great, no white flag long/middle relievers. The starter that gives me the most "uh-oh" is the "ace". Still think he's great. I feel a win when anyone else starts. Every position player (including bench) can play D and hit. They also seem to all like each other and it shows.
  3. Reds win a couple (which I don't mind for this series), but so do the Brewers.
  4. Brewers win. Reds lose.
  5. NFL also has non-guaranteed contracts. It's a lot easier to lock up good players if you know you can cut them later.
  6. "Each and every time Peralta has been able to go deep...in pitch count" Rock, I don't think that's what people mean when they say a pitcher is able to go deep in a game.
  7. Rare to trade within division. Rarer still is to trade a guy with 5 years of control left.
  8. That was a good throw by Vaughn. He's even fielding really good. Amazing how much better players are when they are having fun. With a day off and a rested bullpen I'd be quick with the hook on Freddy.
  9. Inside info from when I used to be a STH: the entrance would get boxes of bobbleheads to give out. Certain entire boxes were the "special" ones and the workers knew which ones. They would randomly grab from those boxes to hand out. to spread out the specials. This was before the mass security so maybe they don't have time to mix it up anymore? I always entered in the same gate and became friends with the workers. When the supervisor saw me she would call me over and swap with me. That way I got a "specual" and my wife got a "regular".
  10. Looks like 1600 seats removed. https://wisportsheroics.com/milwaukee-brewers-2025-stadium-changes-seats/
  11. The pitchers cared, They didn't want to have to pitch in a 12th inning but also didn't want to groove a pitch in the 11th to make sure the game ended.
  12. Abreu would slot perfectly in left field for the Milwaukee Brewers and allow Christian Yelich to be a full-time designated hitter. - TJFrench I guess Yelich having 347 PA as DH means he isn't a full-time DH since he has 39 PA as LF.
  13. Technically the franchise history should include the 64-98 record as the Pilots. But still cool numbers for the Brewers team.
  14. I think the 27th man is only for game 2. I haven't heard anything and the announcement will probably come after the 1st game is over.
  15. The Pirates have outscored opponents 43-4 in the six games since playing the Brewers.
  16. I think it's the definition of the "Moneyball" system defined in the book. It wasn't about using OBP vs Avg. The book was about market inefficiencies. What stats are the market undervaluing? Players good at only those stats are going to be ignored by other teams. That makes them cheaper on a per value added. Now that every team understands OBP and valuing SLG > Ks those stats are no longer "Moneyball". Speed, defense and pitches per PA seem to be the undervalued stats the Brewers are looking for.
