  1. I'm more worried about how his bad spring numbers could effect his mindset. I'm not concerned about his spring numbers. If we're going to take spring stats as future potential, we should start celebrating Lucroy's 2012 MVP award.
  2. According to B-R, Cirillo played 2B for 27 games in his first 3 years (94-96). In 94 Vina played 12 games at 3B for the Mets. In 95 he played 2 games at 3B for the Brewers. He did not play 3B again in his career.
  3. They come by USPS. It depends on where you live on how soon it gets to you. When I was in Cudahy, I would get everything from the Brewers 2 days before my mom in Caledonia would receive hers. I just got mine on Saturday in Washington County. Where do you reside?
  4. Those people are idiots or not Brewer fans.
  5. The mailman rang the doorbell right after the Gamel double today.
  6. Norichika not looking good on either side of the ball.
  7. My first thought was "booo, I kind of liked him for no reason". But reading Mass's list of guys we've "lost", DM seems to know who to expose.
  8. I like the new commercial bragging that they were empty the server room. Charles Barkley (being an expert in computers and all) asked what happened to all the data on the servers. "They're on the cloud!". So the data is still on a server, just on a server somewhere else that you don't control. That sounds like a great idea, especially if you care about security, redundancy, backups, etc.
  9. I don't get the no linking rule. If McCalvy writes a really good story commending Axford, Ax can't tweet a link to the article. I don't know how that could be bad for MLB.
  10. The NCAA has always been funny. In 2000-2001 Carthage (Division III) was ranked 1st in the nation at the end of the year. They were actually ranked 1st in the nation every week but one. They even played at Eastern Illinois during that season and only lost by 1. This is the same Eastern Illinois that got a 15 seed in the Division I tourney. Come tourney time, the NCAA told us that our facility was only big enough to host the first round. During the Elite 8, there are 500 Carthage fans and 2500-3500 Ohio Northern fans. That makes sense, since we were playing at Ohio Northern. We lost by 2 points in a year we should have won the title. All because the NCAA cared more about having more tickets to sell.
  11. Full season tickets aren't being shipped until next week.
  12. Found it. September 13th, post #403
  13. MP added closed captioning late in the season. I remember reporting on the change, but don't remember the specific date. I want to say late August or early September.
  14. I'm not shocked about Ned being Ned. I am shocked that some KC fans (in the comments section) are excited to have him back.
  15. I recently switched from America's 250 to their Silver Plan. It costs the same. I lost VH1, MTV, and the CD channels. I picked up MLB, NHL, NFL, and Animal Planet. I suggest checking it out. There were a bunch of other channels I "lost", but I never watched any of them.
  16. MLB Blackout rules are awful. Nobody in Wisconsin is broadcasting the game, why should we be the only ones to not see the Brewers? I had my whole night planned around this. And the lineup is not worth the hassle and lag to get a German ip address tonight.
  17. I vote for one of the blues.
  18. Let's take your scenario and imagine the Twins have 94 wins. The Yankees would be the only ones who know where they playing Game 1 of the NLDS until the WC game was finished. This would be havoc for the fans and networks.
  19. If your friend is from the Milwaukee area, it makes sense. The Bears are the closest NFL team. I could just never get myself behind a Chicago team. It's the same reason I couldn't be a Blackhawks fan.
  20. Because you have to have travel days in the playoffs. The union requires it. 2-3 will get done one day less than 2-2-1. Normal Schedule Day 1 & 2 - Games 1 & 2 Day 3 - Travel Day 4 & 5 - Games 3 & 4 Day 6 - Travel Day 7 - Game 5 This Year Day 1 & 2 - Games 3 & 4 (Away game for "home field advantage" team) Day 3 - Travel Day 4, 5, & 6 - Games 1, 2, and 5 I hate the idea of a one game playoff game. It's really game 163 (or 16X that year). Are we going to raise a banner for winning the 2nd WC and being trounced in the WC game? Can we really celebrate it?
  21. I've already written the next great Superbowl Ad. It would just take a large chunk of change and two people to be willing to poke fun at themselves. Imagine a montage of Braun all over the country pointing out numerous Fed Ex locations to Laurenzi and waxing poetic about how many there are and how late they're open.
  22. How many hitters get hurt playing the outfield? Or running the bases?
  23. I also dreaded facing the Cardinals. I was one of those few who were hoping for a Phillies match up because I wouldn't feel bad losing to a great team. There is one thing that keeps me going. In a 15 year span (91-05) the Braves won 14 Division titles (only missing the '94 strike year), had a winning percentage of .601, and were 470 games over .500. Yet their fans complained that the team "only won one World Series." The Brewers were 200 games under .500 (.458 winning percentage) and the fans wished for just a piece of the fun the Braves were having. We just had one of those seasons we were hoping for.
  24. I just had horrible flashbacks of '07 when Yost would take Braun out of the game and we would have to watch Counsell bat late against a lefty with the game on the line.
  25. I don't want to quote and repeat it, but post #18.
