  2. I'd enter into that lottery.
  3. This is my 3rd year of not having season tickets and the first time I miss going to games. I might have to empty my wallet online to make sure I get to see more playoff baseball.
  4. I haven't mentioned this lately, but I hate the Cardinals.
  5. Years ago someone posted a link of all Brewer bobble heads. I'm going through inventory and can't find that post. Does anyone still know that link or another list I can use?
  6. I'm pretty sure the union would demand every contract restructure include more real money in the deal. If the Brewers wanted to do this they should just "pay Braun" by putting it in a bank account they control and pay him from that money in the future. Then it earns interest for the Brewers and allows insurance to take care of any injuries later. I assume MA would know how to do this from his day job.
  7. I'm at my first game tonight. Sitting behind home plate with a special guest.
  8. I had season seats for years because I liked sitting in the first row of the field bleachers every game. I also liked getting the tickets to the games all at once without needing to look for the best deal. There are also other perks provided to SSH. I've taken batting practice at MP 4 times (just fans, not the real BP). The first time we were allowed on the infield and I was able to field some balls at 3rd. The other times I shagged balls in the outfield. I also have memorabilia that was signed in front of me. I've also been to every playoff game in Milwaukee in the last 35 years and an all-star exhibition that was all guaranteed because of the tickets. I only stopped because I no longer live 30 minutes from the ballpark.
  9. Which makes it still pointless. If I have to have a cable subscription the MLB app should be free.
  10. I would be happy if they stop the GBA. One the one hand MLB makes a big deal about shaving 5-15 min off the game time (including watching a video before the game to boast about it). On the other hand they will let an entity pay them to lengthen game time by a minute or two.
  11. I score at almost every game I go to. I do have to use the Internet more and more because there is less info available at the game. I have an excel file that will print a scorecard for me. That way it has exactly what I want. Only nine batting lines needed. Ninth spot in the order has room for 4 names (no DH for me!). A spot to mark which sausage won. Which is also the only between inning hoopla I like besides Roll Out the Barrel. And how did everyone's fancy app mark Segura stealing first?
  12. I want to keep Lohse around as long as possible. He's now the only Brewer that's older than me.
  13. IIRC, MP allows for more HRs but suppresses triples and singles. So runs go up but the number of hits (another thing counted for "offense") go down. On topic, I'd get rid of current security, get better parking attendants, have ushers block people from returning to their seats during the game, have between inning activities for everyone (too many are for just one person they picked before the game) like trivia, tell the pitchers to throw the ball and speed the game along, and above all win games.
  14. I will be at the game but cannot stay for BW3s.
  15. There is a sign in every major league clubhouse for the last 90 years that says you will be banned from baseball for betting on the game or associating with gamblers. AFAIK, there is not a single sign in any clubhouse that says you will be banned from baseball for taking drugs. Rose vs steroid user is an apples to oranges comparison. Rose knew the consequence of his actions could lead to this punishment. Roids takers in the late 90s did not have that luxury. I feel no sympathy for Rose not being enshrined (he's still mentioned in the HoF) and hope he never is.
  16. My gut reaction was to be against the netting. Then I thought, why do they have netting behind home plate? Because they recognize that balls could enter that area at a dangerous velocity. If the same is true throughout the infield, why aren't there nets in the entire area?
  17. It's not about finding all of these great hitters. Most of the current hitters would become the DHes. We would need to go find people that can play defense for the Fielder/Weeks/Braun/Davis of the world. Teams will have no trouble finding these defensive players. Most of your AAA depth is made from these players. [sarcasm]Why should someone not be allowed to re-enter the game? I don't want to see someone foul one off his foot and try to keep hitting. You should be allowed to sub in and out without restrictions. Let someone else finish the at bat. Have him come back in when his foot is feeling better. Why limit roster size to 25? We should increase it to 35. 15 pitchers, 10 offensive players, and 10 defensive players. Scores are too low. Each run should be worth 3 points. You get a bonus 4 points on a HR. This would increase scoring overnight. Goodbye 4-2 ballgames, hello 28-10 games! So much better.[/sarcasm]
  18. First, Aramis Ramirez is only 355 days older than I am. I used to be able to play ball 3-4 nights a week with no problems. Now I have aches and pains after I play for the first time in 10 days. The quality of my play has also been eroding over the years. Second, the wife and I started the process of owning and not renting. Our searches were leading us deeper into Washington County. In late March she made me promise I would no longer play ball in Milwaukee County, especially on the south side. There are multiple reasons for her request and I agreed with all of them. I did add the condition that 2015 was exempt since I had already told two teams I was playing this year. It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing my plan to retire at the end of the year. Not to add too much pressure, but I expect the team to rally behind this and finally deliver a championship to our great fans.
  19. I was thinking before the start of last year that he would pass Robin in 2014. Now I'm not sure if he'll do it by 2015.
