  1. They mail your tickets at the same time they mail all other season ticket holders seats... this year I believe it was mid-March. So even though you're renewing early, or picking your seats in October or November, you don't "lock in" your seats at all with the fan's choice.
  2. I'll be there tomorrow.
  3. If you get a fan's choice pack, you will be pushed outwards from where your set 9 pack is. Everyone who gets a set pack (even 4 game packs) will have better seats than yours.
  4. Cameron is coming up to Announcement by Common and Frank Catalanotto comes up to
  5. http://blog.beliefnet.com/moviemom/jack_sparrow.jpg Me? I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.
  6. The starting pitching this year has not been nearly as good as it was last season. Not even remotely close. Right now the team ERA is 14th in the league. Last year it was SECOND. Pre-All star game last year the team was 7th in ERA, at 4.09. This year they were 13th, at 4.57. Can you really blame Macha for that?
  7. Its saying 69% of pitchers who were injured had average or below average PAP counts, while 91% of healthy pitchers had average or below average PAP counts.
  8. Occasionally stretching him out would be one thing, but that hasn't been the case with Yo lately. The injuries come from pitching past a fatigue point and if a pitcher is losing velocity or location, he's already PAST that fatigue point. http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/how-fatigue-affects-a-pitchers-fastball/ http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/the-injury-zone/ There is a happy medium, I agree. The point is, if throwing Yo out there for 110 to 120 pitch games is tripling the chance that he gets hurt, why risk it? Pulling up numbers, from the injury zone article, it said 423 pitchers went on the DL last year, that's out of almost 700 that pitched. (316 in the AL, 362 in the NL), so nearly 2/3's of all pitchers in MLB got put on the DL last year.
  9. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=1480 http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=2633 While I'll admit that PAP is not a perfect metric and obviously every individual is different, the numbers are there. And jeffyscott, I didn't want to use pitches. Trotting Yo back out there for an extra inning bringing him from 100 to 120 pitches every other start is what I was referring to. That's 10-20 innings per year.
  10. Capuano, Ohka, Wise, Turnbow, Kolb, Cordero, Davis, Shouse, Coffee, Torres
  11. The risk is NOT worth the reward. 10-20 extra innings a year out of your starting pitcher is not worth the increased risk of killing his arm for the next 1,000 innings the Brewers need him to throw over the next 5 years.
  12. No, no one has that study. I also haven't seen the study that shows that keeping oil in my car's engine will help keep it running. So, I better just drain the oil and go for a nice long drive. The point isn't if he can handle it or not. The point is, why risk it? Especially when game situation dictates that he should be pulled. If you're going to pull him as soon as a guy gets on base, why send him back out there at all? As for Looper not being pulled, he hadn't walked a guy since the first, and the only real hard hit ball since then was by McCann. It was more about Looper being better than Burns for the 6th inning than anything else.
  13. And Casey McGeehee....
  14. I heard Sparky ranting on WSSP after the game today, he said that's 16 straight day game losses.
  15. If you're going to throw Coffee, almost no matter what... why not pinch hit for Yo and leave him at 105 pitches? That was a Yostian move tonight.
  16. You'd think if it were the shadows, our pitchers would have a big split Day vs Night games as well. They really don't. BAA: Day/Night Gallardo: .203/.213 Suppan: .308/.299 Bush: .287/.277 Looper: .273/.268 Parra: .272/.319
  17. Just looking at splits for the season, overwhelmingly the Crew's bats get quieter during day games. Hardy: Day (105 AB): .114/.175/.152/.327 Night(223 AB): .283/.347/.480/.827 Braun Day(127 AB): .244/.289/.449/.738 Night(234 AB): .346/.440/.603/1.043 Hart: Day(100 AB): .220/.292/.380/.672 Night(232 AB): .276/.350/.431/.781 Counsell: Day (78 AB): .231/.333/.333/.666 Night (179 AB): .324/.380/.469/.849 Kendall: Day(95 AB) .168/.238/.221/.459 Night(189 AB) .280/.372/.317/.689 Fielder and Cameron are about the same, and McGeehee is hugely better during the day. I realize this could be a small sample alert, but when you're putting almost 500 ABs combined, and an OPS upwards of .200 points over 5 players, it seems to be a bit of a trend to me.
  18. What a great catch... as far as the "best ever" for home run robbing catches, I've always been a fan of Endy Chavez
  19. This thread has me thinking... Anyone ever tried to do Gyros on the grill?
  20. The only thing I've seen is batted ball velocity. Never seen actual 'bat speed' measured.
  21. Well, the opportunities/yr are irrelevant, as Gange did it over 2 seasons. Basically this is a probability problem. The odds of the first save, is 19/20 (assuming 95% is league average), so to figure out the odds of it happening 85 times in a row, you take (19/20)^85th, which comes out to be 0.0128. That's the odds of any given closer doing it. Multiply that by 30, and you get the odds of it happening in a given season. My math may be off, its been awhile.
  22. That's two things me and TLR have in common now (we can both take naps in cars, and feel nauseous around Cardinals fans)
  23. Who should he have signed, other than Looper? "He should've done something else" is not a constructive argument. What should he have done differently? Here's a list of the Free Agent Pitchers from last year: http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/feature/?id=11698 Remember, had CC signed here, Cameron would've been traded and any hope of signing Hoffman would've gone out the window as well.
  24. Clearly, he means Knicked, as he knows Jeff Van Gundy was actually grabbing Braunie's ankle. http://dunkonyourface.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/vangundy.jpg
  25. So, the call didn't effect the outcome of the game because other things happened before (or after) that? Clearly these things effected the outcome of the game. Just because the result could've changed had something else happened doesn't change that fact. As for the current replay system: "Any decision regarding the placement of runners, should a home run call be reversed, is made by the crew chief. As is done in cases of spectator interference, the crew chief will place the base runners where he believes they would have been had the call been made properly." So if the ump believes the ball would've been caught, its an out. Moises Alou was clearly in the stands on the play you're referring to, and it would never have even gone to a review, its not fan interference unless they interfere with a ball in play within the field of play (ie: reaching out over the wall).
