  1. http://booreview.com/images/the_big_lebowski_jesus.jpg I'd mess with him. For sure.
  2. You can also ask to get off at the east side shop in Madison (if you're on the east side) - where Johnson hits E Washington, by Walgreens there.
  3. http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/4133/griffeybrewervg6.jpg I still say that looks too good to be true.
  4. Very true MSC. Until you know how to do it right, drilling yourself in doing it wrong won't help at all.
  5. Screamin' A Smith. Yep. Bonds is going to be prosecuted because he is black. That's what this ESPN analyst said on the air. Thats why he is being treated this way, and not Mark McGwire. Screamin' A... The man lied to a grand jury. Committed perjury!
  6. If there happens to be room, I'd love to join up!
  7. I don't know that he's had a Conference Champion caliber team, the "year" for them would've been had Devin Harris stayed another year (or had Tucker been healthy in Harris' last season at UW) I think this team will surprise people. I think Landry is going to be a monster. The guy is just freakishly athletic, and will give opposing forwards fits. I think they win 22 or 23 games this year, and are in the running for the Big Ten title up until the last couple weeks.
  8. I've been looking for a pic of Corey's catch in left center when he crashed into the wall (I think it was in Houston)... anyone?
  9. I think that had as much to do with the insistance of the guys running the games of showing the wrong camera angle on a consistent basis. They kept showing one halfway down the first base line in the stands (which has a terrible angle to view that type of play) As opposed to the one halfway down the third base line (which has the perfect line of sight)
  10. 1 Year of Griffey, Jr manning left field for the 'crew.
  11. RBI's are a function of guys getting on base before a batter, they are also a function of pitchers wanting to pitch to the hitter. Prince had a .415 OBP with men on and 2 out this year. You can't fault him when pitchers weren't pitching to him because Johnny Groundout was hitting behind him. Scoring position and 2 out, his OBP was .435. He didn't exactly have Todd Helton hitting behind him.
  12. Just a few... Hanley Ramirez, FLA. Carlos Pena, TB Oh, and the guy who's 29th in MLB in OPS. Corey Hart. I also didn't hear a word about John Lackey all year long, but maybe that's because I stopped watching ESPN. Or Matt Cain, who managed to be top 20 in baseball in ERA and go 7-16 for the Giants. Wow.
  13. Poor Homer. I feel bad for the kid. I wonder if Prior or Wood has called to warn him yet?
  14. THT actually had an article about the Diamondbacks and how they managed their pen this year back in August. Take a look
  15. Yes, anything can happen in 7 games. The Pirates/Yankees series in 1960 being another prime example... The Yankees outscored the Pirates 38-3 in the three games they won. For the Series as a whole, the Yankees outscored the Pirates 55-27 The issue for me with Ned is if he consistently puts the team in the best possible position to succeed.... and he didn't do that this year. Suddenly he found himself in a pennant race, and he was still managing for next year, as he had the previous 4 years.
  16. Baldkin and others who claim Turnbow was overworked - he wasn't. Look at the stats. Turnbow pitched in 77 games. That's good for 13th place in number of games by a pitcher. Turnbow had the most on the Brewers, and there are only 16 teams in the NL, it isn't particularly notable. The Padres, noted for their great bullpen, had two pitchers who pitched more games and innings than Turnbow - Heath Bell, who was great, and also Cla Meredith. Turnbow pitched a normal workload for a setup man. He just wasn't as good or as consistent as some others. he pitched 42 games before the all star break, only 35 afterwards. His stats over previous years have shown he's terrible when he pitches back to back days, but he was still thrown out there to do that time and time again, and it failed. When the manager puts the pitcher in a position where he is less likely to succeed, instead of managing the bullpen to get the most success out of who he has there and their individual skills and talents, that's where the problem comes in. That's why I vote Nay.
  17. Clearly, there is only one answer to the question... and it is... http://lonestartimes.com/images/Benzion/April_06/2_Dollars__1_.JPG TWO DOLLARS!
  18. Boston over Los Angeles (4) Cleveland over NYY (4) Arizona over Chicago (4) Philadelphia over Colorado (4) Cleveland over Boston (6) Arizona over Philadelphia (6) Cleveland over Arizona (5) edit: Helps if I put the winning teams in the WS. I suck at typing
  19. Nay. Unless they hire someone specifically to manage the bullpen. "Players love playing for Ned." I've only heard that about hitters on the team. I wonder about the pitchers, especially the guys in the bullpen who all set career highs for appearances and as a result burnt out during the stretch. I love how Hardicourt blames it on Turnbow, as if he as any choice of being overworked when Ned brings him out there 80 or so times this year.
  20. Your CC company should refund any interest they charge you on a charge that is refunded. That should be done automatically, and show up on your following statement. (Yes, I used to do CC C/S for a living)
  21. Hall may have been the worst over the course of the year FTJ, but I can't believe he was the worst in the second half. He was so much better after the middle of May or so than he was the first 6 weeks. Heck, maybe I'm wrong.
  22. The random guy who no one knows who's chain smoking and decides he's going to butt into your conversation for 5 minutes, blowing cigarette smoke in your face. The people who think a right turn only lane means its okay to go straight. People who think that because I'm a CompSci major, I have nothing better to do than fix their computer. Which usually takes hours. For free. (C'mon, at least buy me a 6 pack...)
  23. Um... I didn't see a link anywhere to the schedule, am I missing it?
  24. IFs: (6) Fielder, Weeks, Hardy, Braun, Counsell, Dillon (those 6 all under contract, they will be back next year.) OF: (3) Hall, Hart, Gross are back for sure. Beyond that, anything might happen. Gwynn could be dealt for a reliever. Mench could be back. Jenkins could be back. Catcher: (1) Carne Estrada will be back. Pitchers: I see the starting 5 as Sheets, Suppan, Bush, Gallardo and Villanueva. Capuano and Parra in the pen. Shouse and King back as Loogy's. (4 lefties in the pen, I know, I'm crazy) I think Linebrink will come back. That's 10. Leaves 2 spots open for... who knows who. I also think Rottino makes the team next year as a UT guy. Having him and Dillon could be a boon for double switching.
  25. I'll be there in 420, row 2, seat 6. woo woo.
