I’d probably prefer Norby over Ortiz just because Norby is two years younger and appears to have a little more pop in his bat, but I would be perfectly happy with that sort of trade with Baltimore. Throw in a pitcher like McDermott or Povich or someone even lower down the pipeline and I’d be ecstatic.
Yeah needs to work on drawing more walks but did cut the strikeout numbers down considerably during the second half of 2023. Other than that, not much to gripe about. He’s a 5-tool prospect for a reason.
Yeah really a best case scenario in my opinion with the 8 guaranteed years plus two team options, even if those options are pricey. This is a great day.
I’m no expert in trade values but that seems like a pretty good deal for the Brewers. They get a combination of nice infield and pitching prospects, which is exactly what they need.
It certainly would be nice to see the Orioles actually get aggressive for once so we could reap the benefits. They can’t keep all of those prospects, can they?
I think we can all agree that Adames is by no means a world beater but can hit for power and is really good defensively. Teams will pay a premium for shortstops with those kinds of tools.
Yeah completely agree. We certainly don’t need 4 or 5 draft picks in the first couple rounds. Two or three is just fine. Would much rather trade for minor leaguers who are already at AA or higher and just about ready to contribute at the MLB level as opposed to some draft picks.
Yeah I think it’s pretty obvious what they need to do this offseason but I have this sinking feeling that they’ll hold onto everyone and try to make one last run in 2024 and just collect the draft picks.
If we’re not planning on trading Burnes/Adames and going for one more run in 2024, then it would make some sense to check in on their asking price. Otherwise, doesn’t make much sense in a rebuild/retooling year.
