  1. Yeah I think Imanaga is the last FA posting. I think it’s fairly typical not to hear arb numbers until deadline day.
  2. I feel like we’ve been saying that all offseason though. First we were waiting for Ohtani to sign and then we thought things would heat up. Then it was Yamamoto. Then it was after the holidays. It’s January 9 and still not much has happened. We’ll probably end up with a flurry of activity right before Spring Training starts.
  3. Probably the hit tool because a prospect can always develop power later on as they get older and stronger.
  4. I agree with the premise but I think it has more to do with Mark A and company wanting to compete in general. I think they’ve decided to make one last run in 2024 before hitting the reset button next season.
  5. Finally some movement in free agency although it's the Dodgers again...
  6. Signing Cain and trading for Yelich is easily the greatest day in Brewers offseason history. I’ll never forget that day.
  7. I absolutely love that both Quintana and Made are switch-hitters. Excited to follow these guys in the future.
  8. Yeah I'm with you. I'd do that trade in a second. You're getting 3 of the Phillies top 4 prospects, including 2 big time pitching prospects.
  9. With Burnes and Adames coming off the books next year, that will free up quite a bit of money and I expect payroll to be extremely low in 2025. So if we sign someone like Hoskins to a multi-year deal, then really it’s just this year that we’d have to be concerned with payroll. Going forward, we should be just fine.
  10. Good points. It’s possible once Cease gets dealt and Snell and Montgomery sign that teams will get serious about Burnes but I get the impression that the Brewers aren’t motivated at all to trade him. Maybe that changes over the next few weeks. Who knows.
  11. And this is why keeping Burnes is a huge gamble. As of today, you’re counting on a bunch of rookies and 2nd year guys to carry the offense. The lineup is very young and inexperienced. Yelich and Contreras can only do so much. Just seems like more of a transition year to me and holding onto guys like Burnes would be strange.
  12. I’d probably do it on a one year deal and Bauer has stated in the past that he really likes the city of Milwaukee in the summer. It’s just a matter of whether the Brewers want to get involved in that kind of drama.
  13. I can just imagine what a Burnes/Adames trade thread would look like.
  14. I don’t believe the Yankees have signed anyone either.
  15. I think the issue is not knowing which direction the Brewers are ultimately going to go in 2024. If they intend on keeping Burnes and Adames and making one last run in 2024, then fans want to see the "bigger" type of moves. That being said, I think this type of move is just fine whatever direction they decide to go.
  16. Yeah long ways to go and we should all know by now that the MLB offseason moves painfully slow.
  17. I’m beginning to think Burnes doesn’t get dealt period. Just doesn’t seem like the Brewers are real motivated to move him and I’m guessing their asking price is too high for a one year rental. I think he’ll be the Brewers’s OD starter.
  18. They probably hand out one more contract in the 1 year, $8 million range to someone like Carlos Santana. I'd guess no more than $10 million if they keep Burnes and Adames.
  19. January will be a busy month of transactions but I don't expect the Brewers to get involved much with free agency. I do expect a few trades to be made though. Should be a fun month.
  20. Other than extensions to Peralta and Ashby, I can’t remember the last time we spent any significant money on pitching. Maybe Chacin in 2017?
  21. I understand Luciano is ranked # 26 by MLB pipeline but just looking at his minor league stats over the course of his career, I just don’t see a top 50 prospect there. What am I missing with him? 2022 was nothing special and 2023 was even less spectacular. Maybe he battled injuries last year?
  22. Just like with Burnes, that ship sailed a long time ago.
  23. The Orioles could trade for Burnes and still easily have a top 3 farm system. The issue is they are so damn stubborn when it comes to trading prospects. I’ll believe it when I see it.
