    I’m not the biggest Hiura fan but even I find it unbelievable they haven’t called him up at all this year. At this point, what do you have to lose?

    The Angels are calling up Nolan Schanuel, their first round pick from THIS year. Who was the last player to get called up this quickly after being drafted?

    Chourio breaks out of his slump with a hit in his first AB of the night and Lara continues his hot start with the Rattlers.

    A big 1st inning here by the Dodgers and we can probably go to bed early.

    Trade Burnes to the Rangers, Dodgers, or Orioles for a package of prospects. I think you can still compete in the NL Central with a rotation of Woody, Peralta, Houser, Gasser and a veteran pickup like Miley. The bullpen will be pretty good. The offense will see a bit of a youth movement with Frelick, Mitchell, Turang, Chourio, Wiemer, Black, etc. I could see one of the young outfielders not named Chourio get traded too.

    I think he might already lead the league in lazy pop outs.

    Brewers just can’t compete with these guys. Sure they might be able to steal a game but there’s no way they’re winning a series. No way.

    The Brewers, Cubs, and Reds are ranked 3, 4, and 5.

    Oh shoot, that’s right. Burnes on Thursday. That’s probably our most winnable game then.

    Just don’t get swept. We’ll be lucky to score enough runs in any game to win and none of our big three are pitching so this is going to be a tough series. Hopefully the Cubs and Reds lose a couple of games in their respective series.

    Am Fam full of screaming Cubs fans that weekend is going to be gross. I just hope they are completely out of the race by then.

    A little bit of both. Minor thumb injury and his AA manager said he was due for a break anyway.

    Has Mark A commented on this issue at all? Where has he been all summer? I’m sure this is all posturing by all of these different politicians but just the mention of possible relocation is frightening.

    What in the world happened to the Diamondbacks? At one point, they looked like one the better teams in the NL and now find themselves two games under .500 and barely in wildcard contention. Is it injuries? Youth just catching up to them?

    I have nothing positive to say about tonight’s games except for maybe Gasser pitching a nice game. One of those nights.

    At the very least, Wiemer should only start against LH pitchers.

    Looks like Dylan O’Rae is being promoted to Carolina.

    If Black doesn’t completely flop in AAA over the next few weeks, I think it will be him. I think they have him following the same trajectory as Mitchell did last year.
