  1. Chourio’s opposite field homerun was measured at 417 feet, btw. Not easy to do.
  2. It has to be Chourio’s age and his age alone that is still keeping him in AA at this point. To be honest, I was surprised he didn’t get promoted to Nashville around the same time Black was promoted. I wonder if they are content leaving him in Biloxi to finish out the season. Maybe he plays that final week in AAA after Biloxi’s season ends.
  3. The Padres are 6 games under .500 but carry a plus-62 run differential. I’m guessing they’ve had a few really big blowout wins and a bunch of 1 and 2 run losses. Such a strange team.
  4. Can we stop giving up two out homeruns please?
  5. William Contreras is so damn good.
  6. A ton of offense from Nashville tonight but Tyler Black is 0-3 and continues to struggle a bit. Still getting his walks and not striking out much but I’m impatiently waiting for him to start hitting like he was in Biloxi.
  7. That Cubs offense is annoyingly good. Ugh
  8. Was thinking we’d see Misiorowski tonight but Carlos Rodriguez is listed as the scheduled starter, which isn’t a bad thing at all.
  9. Any chance a guy like Yophery Rodriguez finishes out his season in Carolina? Or is that more likely to happen with the ACL guys like Pratt, Bitonti, etc?
  10. I’m not sure what our overall record is against the Twins the past 20 years or so but it can’t be great. Never like playing these guys.
  11. I could see Black being one of the September call ups. Him and Frelick’s on-base prowess would be fun to watch. He’s struggled a little bit the past few weeks but I see him being on the same trajectory as Mitchell was last year (Mitchell was promoted to AAA in early August and to Milwaukee a few weeks later).
  12. Black has been slumping for a few weeks now but I would love to see him get hot and get the call. His on-base skills and speed would fit in nicely with Frelick and the rest of the young guys.
  13. Are my eyes deceiving me or is Frelick out of the starting lineup again?
  14. Yeah Chourio has a hit. Other than that, not much to report so far.
  15. Tyler Black showing some signs of coming out of his funk. Couple more hits tonight including two RBI’s.
  16. Areinamo redeems himself with a double and RBI in his 3rd AB.
  17. I’m not very familiar with Texas. Who’s missing from their lineup?
  18. I’m not the biggest Hiura fan but even I find it unbelievable they haven’t called him up at all this year. At this point, what do you have to lose?
  19. The Angels are calling up Nolan Schanuel, their first round pick from THIS year. Who was the last player to get called up this quickly after being drafted?
  20. What the heck is Adames swinging at? Goodness.
  21. Chourio breaks out of his slump with a hit in his first AB of the night and Lara continues his hot start with the Rattlers.
  22. A big 1st inning here by the Dodgers and we can probably go to bed early.
  23. Trade Burnes to the Rangers, Dodgers, or Orioles for a package of prospects. I think you can still compete in the NL Central with a rotation of Woody, Peralta, Houser, Gasser and a veteran pickup like Miley. The bullpen will be pretty good. The offense will see a bit of a youth movement with Frelick, Mitchell, Turang, Chourio, Wiemer, Black, etc. I could see one of the young outfielders not named Chourio get traded too.
  24. I think he might already lead the league in lazy pop outs.
