    I like Wiemer but the dude can’t hit a breaking ball to save his life.

    Frelick hitting cleanup again. I’m not sure that I like that spot for him but that’s probably more of an indictment on how bad our offense is right now.

    Who’s not on the 40 man that could possibly get the call? Black?

    I would consider Abner Uribe sort of like a bullpen acquisition without having to give up anything to get him. Justin Wilson as well. I just don’t want to utilize any of our resources to acquire bullpen arms when our offense desperately needs an upgrade, other than Frelick.

    Chourio has raised his batting average by about 30 points over the past couple of weeks or so, which is not easy to do this late in the season. Really impressive stuff.

    And hasn’t his strikeout numbers come way down? Still not walking a ton but love to see the strikeouts coming down. I mean, he’s the youngest player in all of AA and he’s among league leaders in many offensive categories in the Southern League.

    Just a reminder that Black was in the same draft class as Frelick and is only a few months younger. I know the defense is still a work in progress but it almost seems comical at this point that Black is still in AA.

    Quite the debut for Sal. Now why don’t we swap out Winker for Black and see what he can do (Frelick and Black were in the same draft, btw).

    No Quero in the starting lineup tonight after he left last night’s game early. Must be banged up.

    Yeah I said this in the game thread last night but that is a deadly 1-2-3 that opposing pitchers have to face in Black, Chourio and Quero. Exciting for us though!

    Don’t look now but all of a sudden Chourio has his batting average up to .275 after three more hits tonight.

    Black, Chourio and Quero at the top of that Shuckers lineup has to be an absolute nightmare for opposing pitchers.

    Not going to win too many 2-1 games this weekend. Bats need to show up big time.

    Last year, Garrett Mitchell was promoted to Nashville on August 2 and then to Milwaukee on August 27. Perhaps Black is on a similar timeline.

    Didn’t realize how built Tyler Black is and they also updated his height to 6’1” on MLB Pipeline.

    Crazy back and forth game in Montgomery tonight. The Shuckers retake the lead in the 9th after Montgomery rallied in the 8th. Black and Chourio contributed to the comeback with hits in the 9th.

    Yeah and I don’t think it will take much for the Brewers to call him up. Maybe within the next week or two if he keeps this up.

    Is it Charter or Bally Sports that sucks? The feed is awful today.

    This game still makes me nervous. This Phillies offense can bust out at any moment.

    Adames isn’t Winker-bad yet but he’s up there. I almost expect a strikeout every AB.
