Was listening to a baseball podcast yesterday and the host said this kind of spending typically happens after a lockout. Didn't really give any detailed reason why but we'll see if this continues next offseason.
I guess I could see a scenario where we trade one of our OF to Toronto for a catcher and then trade for one of those OF from Arizona. I'm just not sure if we match up well with Arizona. Maybe Urias+?

Alek Thomas is almost an exact replica of Frelick, maybe with a little more power. The article mentions Arizona wanting big league pieces back so not sure who from the Brewers would be of interest.

Yeah the Brewers haven’t really had an “all-in” move since they traded for Yelich and signed Cain on the same day and that was almost 5 years ago now. Prior to that it was Greinke in 2011. I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Yeah, my first thought was Lauer for Arraez. Seems like a good match. Arraez is an absolute on base machine and the Brewers appear to be targeting high on base guys at this point.
Yeah I think you'll still see Frelick and Mitchell starting in the OF along with Yelich. Winker is DH. Thought maybe they'd move Yelich to DH but starting to think they're not ready to do that yet.
And Frelick had more success in AA than Mitchell, who was obviously called up before him. You can’t keep a guy like Frelick in the minors forever. He should be starting OD.
What would be a fair return for Adames? I'd want Miguel Vargas and a pitching prospect for sure. Probably not getting Miller but either Stone or Pepiot would be fair.
Yelich will be a Brewer for a long time. Just move him to DH and hope for the best at this point. Best case scenario is his numbers return to his days as a Marlin. Worst case scenario is we're paying him $25 million a year to watch him hit little dribblers to the right side every AB.
