  1. I think this is spot-on. As a side note, really sucks for Mitchell who just cannot stay healthy. If you follow the minor leagues closely, you’ll know that Mitchell was hurt a ton.
  2. Hoping the same for Valerio!
  3. Frelick or Wiemer will almost certainly be up in mid-April once service time is no longer an issue. There's no way they're going to roll with Miller and Anderson in the outfield for an extended period of time.
  4. I think Mitchell is a lock to start the year in Milwaukee unless he absolutely flops or gets injured in ST. I've accepted the fact that the Brewers will wait until at least May 1 to call up Frelick to gain the extra year of control.
  5. Very much appreciated, @endaround. Thank you. So you basically you gain an extra year of pre-arby (which is cheap comparatively) by keeping the player down until mid-season. They become a free agent the same year, regardless. My gut tells me they won't wait around until mid-season to call Frelick up.
  6. I can't seem to wrap my head around the difference between a mid-April vs. mid-season callup. Can you explain a little further the difference between the two?
  7. I like your thinking but the Astros don’t have a comp pick.
  8. Ken Rosenthal is reporting that former President of Baseball Operations for the Brewers, David Stearns, is now potentially in the running to fill the vacant role in the Houston Astros front office. Stearns is technically still under contract with the Brewers through the end of the 2023 baseball season so any arrangement with Houston would have to be cleared by Milwaukee. That could manifest in a myriad of ways: money, players, or even a compensation pick could head to the Brewers should the Astros pursue Stearns for the role. View full rumor

  10. Yeah Frelick and Turang seemed destined to start the year in Nashville, which is a damn shame but not surprising. Can someone explain the cutoff dates for when they can be brought up to gain the extra year? I've heard two different dates - a few weeks into the season and sometime in June.
  11. Stop being so damn cheap and just pay your Cy Young award winner. Burnes is not asking for an unreasonable amount at all. Pretty ridiculous.
  12. One WS title in my existence would be nice. I’d even take an appearance.
  13. I’ll admit I don’t know anything about this guy but I believe they signed Perkins to fill this role?

  15. I think there are going to be fans who will make the argument that Mark A didn't really push the payroll to new heights during this run of one of the best starting rotations in Brewers history. Whether that would equal more wins or a WS title - nobody knows.
  16. Surprised the Dodgers didn't make your list as they have 7 top 100 prospects on MLB Pipeline's list, including infield and pitching prospects that would make sense for the Brewers. I think the Brewers and Dodgers match up really well on a Burnes and/or Adames trade.
  17. Creative but there's no way Pittsburgh would trade for Burnes, knowing he'd be gone in a couple of years and not within their competitive window (which is almost never, btw). I guess they could turn around and trade him in a year but doesn't seem to make much sense for them.
  18. What a year to be a free agent in baseball. Or negotiating an extension. Wow.

  20. I think that's pretty much a given in my mind. The question is can we keep one of them and if so, then who? My bet would be Woodruff.

  22. If the Brewers do anything else meaningful this offseason, it will be signing Counsell to an extension. That I am almost 100% sure about.
  23. Black and Zamora are in the same boat - they've shown flashes but can't seem to stay healthy. Mitchell was the same way coming up through minors and is now with the big club so obviously there's hope.
  24. This guy does have almost 15,000 followers on Twitter so it’s possible he’s not just making stuff up but still hard to believe. When is Tatis eligible to return?
