Mark A thought signing McCutchen at one year and $8.5 million was a big deal so that tells you all you need to know about free agency for the Brewers. Don’t get your hopes up. Anything big will have to be done via trade. -

You could trade Burnes, Woodruff and Soto in a couple of years to restock the farm system but yeah, you’re still looking at a rebuild come 2025.

Unless we’re trading for a star player with multiple years of control, I’m not trading Chourio or Frelick. Anybody else is fair game although I’d be really hesitant to trade Mitchell, Turang, Wiemer and Small for a rental.

I would imagine Yelich, Benintendi and Renfroe is your starting OF with McCutchen the DH and Taylor in some sort of bench role.
