  1. i'm curious if derek fisher has seen any action at the alternate training site since being placed on the injured list.
  2. no baseball activities for lorenzo cain since going on the injured list.
  3. only 10 teams have hit the 85% vaccination threshold to relax covid protocols.
  4. simulated games open to the public on the docket in grand chute every day for the rest of this week, except for tomorrow, with a game played at american family field. no idea on the opponent.
  5. it's time for taxi squad 2.0. if you see reports of a non-roster player in san diego, or a non-roster player conspicuously absent from the alternate training site in grand chute, please report here.
  6. good points made by both '88 and sixtofan. the brewers do not expect wong to be activated by the 10-day mark in san diego. one wonders if it's better to have had him stay behind on this roadtrip and work out in grand chute. would be easy for him to drive to chicago to be activated.
  7. it's all about maximizing the pool of players available to you. the three guys you suggested all have met the requisite stay of 10 days on optional assignment, and are eligible to be recalled at any time. yardley had yet to meet the requisite 10 days, but was eligible for recall when a corresponding move was placement on the injured list.
  8. i thought the most you could backdate was three days and that's the case. yelich to the injured list, retroactive to 14 april.
  9. eric yardley has been recalled from the alternate training site. he did not need to meet the requisite 10 days on optional assignment, because he is replacing a player put on the injured list. i predict his stay will be brief.
  10. we're now at day nine (counting the friday he reportedly flew to report to the organization) . . . no announcement from the brewers.
  11. yelich to the 10-day injured list. not sure how far they can backdate it.
  12. as damuelle points out, tim lopes is playing second base in a class aa spring training exhibition game today.
  13. Not likely for a 34 year old veteran who's been a solid major league reliever his entire career. More likely they're building up his arm coming off of "Tommy John light" surgery. It's just a matter of a week or two when he's very likely to replace Rasmussen or Perdomo on the active roster. blaine hardy started 13 games for detroit in 2018, so there's that. i found it surprising to hear that he threw 50-60 pitches. that sounds like starting pitcher to me.
  14. how many pitches did blaine hardy throw? did it appear that they were trying to develop him as a bona fide starting pitcher?
  15. thanks for the recap. will be especially curious if you attend while the brewers are on the road to figure out who's missing and thus, deducing who's on their taxi squad 2.0 roster. bowden francis is another player they sent back to arizona. by my math, it was just those five. also notable that dee strange-gordon did not appear yesterday. he reportedly traveled to milwaukee on 9 april to start the intake process.
  16. those exhibition games were played at american family field, so cold weather wouldn't have been a factor. and the white sox were on the road through 7 april, so they were entitled to carry up to five players from their ats roster on a taxi squad. and we don't know how many players the brewers had on their taxi squad, or if their taxi squad only joined them for the charter flight to st. louis from chicago.
  17. your alternate training site roster: clayton andrews luke barker phil bickford ray black dylan cozens leo crawford mario feliciano derek fisher (major league injured list) zack godley zach green blaine hardy eric lauer hoby milner cooper hummel luke maile jacob nottingham (major league injured list) dustin peterson corey ray pablo reyes miguel sanchez chad sobotka (may still have to clear intake) quintin torres-costa patrick weigel (may still have to clear intake) jamie westbrook eric yardley jordan zimmermann 26 players listed above . . . my understanding is that the limit is 28 players. i doubt that a player was added to replace the recently selected jace peterson or the recently recalled tyrone taylor. dee strange-gordon signing is not official (has to clear intake), so he is not included yet.
  18. fans were allowed in grand chute as of yesterday. the alternate training site roster had been working out at american family field while the parent club was on the road (playing the white sox in exhibition games). they reported to grand chute after the brewers' road trip concluded.
  19. i went to the effort to link to my source. the rationale for the change is explained in the source.
  20. odell jones.
  21. the brewers have yet to announce this signing. reportedly, they put strange-gordon on an early flight friday to get a headstart on intake. intake is only supposed to take a few days, and we're at day seven. covid protocols might be in effect for strange-gordon.
  22. the trade deadline this year will be 3:00 pm ct on 30 july, not 31 july.
  23. no, that was his right quad.
  24. in 41 plate appearances, jackie bradley, jr. has yet to draw a walk. he also leads the club with 16 strikeouts.
