  1. So by my count is that now 4 times in the Astros game where they had a man on 3rd with one out and failed to score?
  2. I can't believe that the Crew really doesn't have one single black hole in there lineup. For as long as I can remember there has been atleast one and usually two positions that just suck. In the case of 2004 I think there were about 7. Not the case anymore. Hopefully Hart can help the team; you don't him playing just for the sake of playing. He better be able to move effectively at 1st.
  3. Well it didn't take long for Bud Norris to dissappoint us. Astros also had bases loaded and only one out and only got 1 across.
  4. I don't know I think Rogers raw stuff is pretty comparable to Peralta. If both of those guys figure it out and Fiers can continue to be a solid starter; our rotation is set for years to come and that isn't even considering the likes of Burgos, Estrada, Jungmann, and Thornburg. While I don't think there is a Ben Sheets/#1 starter type in that group; it is a very solid and deep group with plenty of #2 and #3 starter potential. Maybe one of them turns out to be a stud; who knows.
  5. LOUD NOISES!!!!!
  6. The Astros are so bad. If STL and MIL both win today; it is going to be a tall order for MIL not to fall farther behind before the WAS series is done. Please Hou just pull one game out of your behind please.
  7. Brewers tagged 3 balls pretty hard last inning and managed to go down 1 2 3. Tough luck
  8. I would certainly be OK with that but I would want Segura to win because I think he has more long term potential. Bianchi certainly seems capable though.
  9. I think the huge amount of power and speed on this team should be pretty clear evidence that overdoing sac bunts isn't necessary. I have never had a huge problem with bunting but with as much power and speed this team has whats the point of giving up an out other than in the most obvious bunting situations? It seems that we haven't bunted as much recently but that might be selective memory
  10. Its pointless to DL Hart anymore but this sure seems like it might keep him from playing for the rest of the year. Kind of hard to play effectively when you can't run at all. I don't know how you could even expect him to pinch hit.
  11. I don't think he is going to turn into Casey McGehee or anything; but the contract is so heavily backloaded that it will be difficult to earn that money. However he is playing well above his contract in Year #1 so the 3rd year will probably be more bearable.
  12. The Cards get to play the Cubs and Astros 9 more times this year. If they somehow win less than 86 games I will be shocked. It would be a huge meltdown for them not to win atleast 6 of those games. LAD I could see falling back; but I just can't envision the Cards not just beating up on those two teams and making it hard for the Brewers to make up ground.
  13. By that same logic it also wasn't Ron's fault when Rickie & the bullpen sucked. I don't want to give RR too much credit for the improved individual performances in the 2nd half; but I can't fault him that those guys played so poort before. I really think that is was just a matter of the season playing itself out. The Brewers weren't nearly as bad as June & July indicated and it was a matter of time before they started playing better. Granted no one saw them winning 20 out of 26 or whatever it is; but this team had to much talent for that bad period to last for a whole season.
  14. Aramis is making DM look like a genious right now. It is still likely that the 3rd year is going to be an overpay; but much like the Randy Wolf signing the first 2 years are going to make the whole deal well worth it.
  15. so RR = Cesar Izturis? Talk about an insult I like RR and have always liked him. Sometimes his in game management is "suspect" but through almost 2 years it seems that he is pretty good at pushing the right buttons and keeping the team motivated and playing well. He definitely seems that he is a much better behind the scenes manager than an in game manager but I don't think he is that bad at in game management. He probably isn't worse than anyone else; its just that we watch him every day.
  16. Peralta still isn't striking too many guys out which makes me a little nervous. No doubt he has good stuff but if his talent and performance in MILB would have warranted a top spot in the rankings then he would have been ranked. There is a reason he was an afterthought to many scouts.
  17. Just win thats all you can do. Sweep PIT and they are probably out of the picture. Then its a 3 team race between STL, LAD, and MIL. We have to face both Burnett and Wandy in PIT; its not going to be easy. If we win only 1 of 3 we are probably not out of the race; but it makes winning 3 of 4 in WAS that much more important.
  18. This books really paints LaRussa as the guy everyone thought he was, a vindicatve bitter old man.
  19. The Pirates are so incredibly bad right now that it is making me more and more confident. WAS and CIN will have clinched or gotten awfully close by the time the Brewers see them as well. I don't think the schedule is as daunting as I once thought. That being said STL gets 9 games against HOU and CHI so almost by default they are the favorites. They will either have to choke or we will have to go on some crazy run (Even moreso than our current crazy run)
  20. I admit to having to look up "vacuous" I have prepared myself for Braun never winning an MVP award again because of what happened. Just frustrating; for someone outside of Brewerfandom I guess I can understand the hesitation. If Braun would just out with the "full story" as he calls it he might have a change for awards again. As it stands now he just isn't going to win anything anytime soon (Unless he is jsut blatantly the best player; thats not really the case in 2012)
  21. PHI lost; we atleast for one day that is one more team we are ahead off. Hopefully Pitt gets put in the rear view mirror tomorrow
  22. I doubt Kyles had anything to do with it. The talent was always there; sometimes players/teams go through bad stretches. It happens
