  1. Honestly, if the ball he hit to the wall in Cincinnati goes an extra 3 feet for a game tying 9th inning HR.... I can't imagine he's gone. Exactly. If that ball goes over the wall, suddenly he's regarded as "Clutch". I think a lot of the "angst" over losing Nelson is that many of the members of bf.net have developed an attachment to him after following him for what, seven years? We've seen him go from top prospect to non-prospect, back to prospect, and finally to the major league roster on opening day. Personally, when Nelson was a top prospect, I spent more time in the minor league forum than in the major league forum...it sure was the more promising area to focus on at the time. We followed him all the way through the wrist injury that played a large part in his non-prospect status. You spend that much time following a guy, and it's going to sting a bit when he gets jettisoned.
  2. Bump. Season Finale tonight. Can't believe we went two episodes with no comments.
  3. KANSAS CITY, MO-Players and executives with the 16-11 Royals filed a grievance with MLB officials Tuesday after they could not find themselves anywhere in the league's official standings. "We looked in all the usual places: third place, fourth place, even fifth place, and we didn't see our name anywhere," said Royals GM Dayton Moore, who added that he even peeked at the AL West standings to see if perhaps the team had been moved to a different division. "I could have sworn we'd been playing really well this year. Why would Commissioner Selig try to hide us? Did we do something wrong? Let me see that paper again." Moore explained that he and everyone in the front office were "very curious" to see Kansas City's other baseball team, which is currently in first place. http://www.theonion.com/content/news_briefs/royals_unable_to_find?utm_source=a-section
  4. At this point I don't think we can assume any player who is doing super human things is clean With a blanket statement like that, we have to assume that Ryan Braun is dirty, since he has a pretty super start to his young career.
  5. Here is a game that I remember watching on television as a kid: LINK Charlie Liebrandt almost no-hit the Brewers. Liebrandt was perfect through 5 1/3, when none other than Bill Schroeder, bunted for a hit. I've never heard Schroeder talk about that game, but I wonder what he would have to say about bunting for a game when the opposing pitcher is throwing a perfect game in the 6th inning, and your team is down by 6 runs. Seems kind of bush league to me.

  7. Wasn't Victor Santos called "The Vampire" because he pitched so much better at night than he did during the day?
  8. My eyes itch, and I've been sneezing a lot. That means that the trees will be sprouting leaves shortly.
  9. Under no circumstances is it wrong to boo a Yankee. Keep Booing, Baltimore.
  10. To be fair Im pretty sure we opened the season at home last year vs the dodgers I think. Nope. They opened on the road in Chicago last year. The home opener was the second series of the year. That being said, I don't mind opening on the road every year....it's much easier to recover from the home opener when it's on a Friday, instead of a Monday.
  11. I believe that Royals/White Sox has already been rescheduled for tomorrow (tuesday).
  12. Any other Dish subscribers out there not get the Brewer game last night. I checked the guide at 8:45, and it was not listed.
  13. Just remembered one other little issue with Dish Network as a Brewer fan. When the Bucks are on FSN and the Brewer game is being carried by WMLW, we outside of Milwaukee don't get the Brewer game on Dish. I assume that the same applies to DirecTV. This season, that will apply to 3 games in April: Saturday, April 11 Monday, April 13 Wednesday, April 15 After the Bucks are done, the WMLW games are carried by Dish.
  14. I'm still having a hard time seeing Stringer Bell on The Office. Thanks. I new that actor looked familiar, but I couldn't place him. But it didn't bother me to the point of looking it up for myself, I guess.
  15. I used to be an APBA board game player, but had to give it up 5 years ago when my daughter was born. It was fun, but took up too much time. I've always meant to give the computer game a try, but now isn't really the time for me. Good look finding someone.
  16. Is the FSN HD schedule out yet? I haven't seen anything on the topic in a few months, but last year, the plan was that all games would be in HD this season. I hope that the economic environment has not changed that plan. Given that we are two weeks away from opening day, it's strange that we have not heard anything on this.
  17. Not a prospect, but Jose Fernandez had a huge spring for the Brewers, probably about 10 years ago. Lyle Mouton played his way onto the roster as well once with a huge spring that surprisingly did not translate into regular season success.
  18. I love the Snuggie commercial. I can't decide which I like more, the shot of the family roasting marshmallows around the campfire in snuggies, or the shot of them at a football game. They both make me laugh out loud.
  19. The Counting Crows never got enough love. Hate to be a stickler....wait, who am I kidding, I love to be a stickler. The name of the band is "Counting Crows"...not "The Counting Crows".
  20. "I would like to take you to dinner and to a movie"......."Boobs".
  21. The original e-mail that was sent out by the TimberRattlers said this: All tickets for the "Border Battle" at Miller Park are just $10 each and go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. In addition, all seats will be reserved. Tickets may be purchased by visiting the Miller Park Box Office, online at brewers.com, or by calling the Brewers Ticket Office at (414) 902-4000 or 1-800-933-7890. If tickets are indeed General Admission now, it is a change from what was originally communicated, and I will demand restitution :-)
  22. I certainly hope that your ticket rep is mistaken, because if my sweet seat location turns into "general admission" I will be disappointed, to put it mildly.
  23. If I remember my rows correctly, row 4 behind the dugout is actually the first row If that is the case, that will be awesome. I've had the good fortune of sitting directly behind the dugout at Fox Cities stadium....it will be neat to be able to do the same at Miller Park for a game. If anyone can confirm or disprove panthernick's theory, I'd be interested to know. Otherwise, I guess I'll just find out on April 24th.
  24. I got a dozen tickets, so I had to "settle" for row 4 and 5 behind the home dugout. I missed out on the Snappers games at Miller Park, so I am excited to be going this time.
