  1. Maybe Stanley Spadowski could host the pre and post game shows. I'd rather see Rock drink from a fire hose than see another on-field instructional.
  2. I thought Ann getting all the pics sent to her was one of the more unfunny things I've seen on this show. Ron Swanson was great, as always...although his beard did look a bit fake to me. At first I was a bit disappointed with Tammy 1, but I'll reserve judgement on that.
  3. Yes, the wildcard is a fallback....but the odds of us ending up with the wildcard are very slim. The Brewers, Braves, and either the Giants or the D-Backs would all have to struggle down the stretch for it to happen. BP currently has the brewers winning the wild card only 2.2% of the time. The good news is that we win the division 86% of the time....so I can live with that. Crazy things happen in sports....and the Brewers winning the wild card this year would qualify as something crazy.
  4. I just moved and am having issues with my DSL speed. I only pay for 1.5 Mb/s download speeds, and I approach that sometimes...but many times, it is waayyy below that. (.1 or .2 mb/s) I've used DSL Speed test sites to check it periodically. I would like to be able to run a test hourly for a couple of days to see what I'm really getting in terms of speed. Does anyone know of a utility that exists that will allow me to run a test each hour, and track the results? I'd like to have some data to back me up before I call my provider to complain.
  5. Was going to purchase an item on Amazon yesterday for $19.99. In order to get free shipping, I needed to spend another $5. Poked around a bit, but just couldn't find anything for ~$5 that I wanted/needed. Logged into Amazon today, to find that the price of my item has increased to $29.99. Well, I guess I don't have to look for a $5 item any longer.
  6. They Dyson Airblade Hand Dryer that was recently installed in the restroom where I work. It's incredibly loud. Imagine starting up a leafblower in a restroom. And there isn't even the option of using towels, when the Airblade hasn't dried my hands completely.
  7. (Bump). Three episodes of the office have aired, since the last post in this thread. I think that fact summarizes my feelings for this season pretty well. Very uninspiring. I'm hoping that things pick up as we get closer to Michael's departure...but right now, there's not much that is driving me to watch the show.
  8. I learned everything that I know about buying a car from George Costanza: "You never tell 'em you like the car. You're not sure what you want. You don't even know why you're here. " "...no rust-proofing. Commit to nothing. If you have to speak - mumble. " "No matter what they say, you say, 'I’ll walk out of here right now!' "
  9. Hearing folks describe the odd procedure that deals with divisioning got me wondering, Is the districting proposal that the WIAA came up with a year or two ago still a possibility, or did that idea get squashed?
  10. The Oneders.
  11. Caught the tail end of a Ford commercial last night, featuring Mike Rowe (the guy from Dirty Jobs, and the narrator for Deadliest Catch), and for some reason, at that moment, he reminded me of Jim Varney (aka: Ernest P. Worrell). Maybe it was just the way he was talking into the camera, or the fact that he seems to be on just about every commercial these days. Now his approach isn't anywhere near as over the top as the "Hey Vern" commercials were back in the day...but Rowe has definately become the go-to pitch-man to sell your product to Joe Six-Pack.
  12. So Macha decides that Corey Hart needs a day off one day after Cain is sent back to Nashville?!? So instead of Cain getting a start, we are treated to the Joe Inglett Experience instead? I'm baffled.
  13. and don't forget his role in the greatest cinematic achievement in the history of man: Cabin Boy. RIP Paps, "you've been like the drunken, abusive grandfather I never had. "
  14. http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:9Ryf-FBeL3MUyM:http://www.exposay.com/celebrity-photos/fredi-gonzalez-2008-mlb-florida-marlins-at-los-angeles-dodgers-3-1-july-11-2008-42oaxz.jpghttp://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:gIPuk8JCX_bypM:http://images.quickblogcast.com/104783-97598/GarthBrooks.jpg Have Fredi Gonzalez and Garth Brooks ever been seen together at the same time?
  15. Maybe Fredi is going to hit the road as a Garth Brooks cover performer?
  16. I would love to see Braddock closing for the Brewers starting tomorrow. I'm a patient guy, but please, no more Trevor Time.
  17. Bump. It came up in another topic...does anyone know when Jeffress' suspension is up? According to this article, http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/49267777.html Brevard County had 75 games left last year at the time of his suspension. If Brevard has played 25 games this year, it would seem that his suspension has been served.
  18. Giving this a Bump, based on a topic that is somewhat buried in the "What's Bugging You?" thread. Dish network has not been broadcasting all the FSN-WI Brewer games in HD this year...I estimate that about 1/2 the games have been in Standard Def. (Obviously, the WMLW games will be in SD...but many FSN-WI broadcasts have been as well). I'd like to hear from DirecTV customers....are all the FSNWI games in HD there? Has anyone else called Dish Network on this?
  19. I am bugged by the way that Jody Gerut throws the ball back into the infield with a submarine throwing motion. I'm not sure why it bugs me...I'm something of a Gerut fan....maybe I'm afraid that he'll throw it back that way once when there are runners on base?
  20. Today when he was running to first on the ball that went off the third baseman's glove, he looked like Johnny Estrada.
  21. Watching the Cubs/Reds on WGN. They just ran a quick promo for the Cubs/Brewers game on WGN on Monday...and they used the Brewers short-lived interlocking MB logo, circa 1994. Strange choice. It's the Cubs, so I feel like they just purposely chose the worst Brewer logo ever...just to spite us.
  22. Theory of a Deadman They sound like Nickleback...only worse.
  23. Bump. The folks at woot are offering an interesting adventure today.
  24. I think the story is simply that with a new stadium, demand for tickets have increased. There aren't many seats left for the series with the Brewers. They need to save some seats in case they do sell some more season ticket packages. I don't think it is anything that they are doing specifically for that series to try to make Brewer fans buy tickets to additional games. They just have to have some seats available for season ticket sales. I was hoping to get 4 tickets to the saturday game, and was shut down as well. I'll be watching eBay, Craigslist, and Stubhub, but it looks like if I really want to see that game, I'll be paying significantly above face value. We Brewer fans saw the same thing when Miller Park opened.
  25. FOG. And people driving in the fog with their headlights off.
