  1. Songs that begin by announcing the name of the artist. Sean Kingston and Jason Derulo are two examples, off the top of my head. If your song is any good, we'll eventually figure out who is singing it. You don't need to tell us.
  2. I never hoist the main sail And I've never swabbed the poop deck And I never veer to starboard 'Cause I never sail at all And I've never walked the gangplank And I've never owned a parrot And I've never been to Boston in the fall
  3. On a somewhat related note, I've been watching NBATV's morning highlight show, and it too is very well done. They cover ALL the games from the previous night, and they spend time on all the teams....not just the Lakers and Celtics.
  4. Anyone have any experience with MLB.TV, outside of the WMLW broadcast area, but within the Brewers Blackout region? Specifically, I'm looking at getting the MLB.TV monthly subscription for April, when the bucks are still on, and those WMLW games are not available outside of Milwaukee. Anybody know if MLB.tv will allow me to see those games, or will I still be blacked out?
  5. Harrington Beach State Park just added camp sites: http://www.dnr.state.wi.u...ic/harrington/index.html
  6. obsessed....you are by far my favorite brewerfan.net insider :-)
  7. Josh is one of our best resources We just had a significant rumor arise involving one of his clients, and he has been either unwilling or unable to give us a clear explanation of the situation. If he can't comment on significant situations such as this, then I would argue that we really aren't losing much of an inside resource.
  8. I cannot hear the song, "Working for the Weekend" without thinking of Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze. One of my favorite SNL sketches, ever. RIP Adrian and Barney.
  9. Another interesting detail to the story that I just read was that Garrido was actually sent back to prison from April to August of 1993, for a parole violation. That was after the aduction, which took place in 1991. The wife is just a guilty as the husband.
  10. Anyone else following the amazing story of Jaycee Lee Dugard, the girl who was kidnapped in 1991 when she was 11 years old? I find myself looking for updates on this story several times a day. The jailhouse interview given by her kidnapper, in which he describes how "heartwarming" the story will be when we hear the entire story just gives me the chills...to think how deranged this individuall really is. There are now reports that a neighbor called the police to report people living in the backyard, but the police did not discover the hidden living area back there. And now the house is being investigated for clues into the possible murder of some prostitues whose bodies were disposed of near an area where the kidnapper worked. I hope that the victim and her family can approach some sense of normalcy after all of this.
  11. I recall hearing the broadcasters refer to the "volunteer umpires" more than once. I'd be very surprised if they were paid...even in the World Series. I definately hear what you are saying about the atomic bats and the small fields. Yikes.
  12. I run the youth baseball program in our area, and finding competent volunteer umpires (which all Little League Umpires are) is the most difficult part of the job. Hard to believe, but the list of people willing to give up their free time to get yelled at by parents and coaches, and get disrespected by 12 year olds is not all that long. So bad umpiring in the Little League World Series should not come as a suprise to anyone.
  13. Regardless of how the team plays as a whole, I'm still enjoying watching Braun and Fielder play. I'm really trying to enjoy that pair as much as I can, because you don't know how long it will last. We are extremely fortunate as Brewer fans to have two players like them on the team. We haven't had two players like that since 1992, when we last had Molitor and Yount on the same team. It might be another 15 years before it happens again...or even longer.
  14. Looks like we traded Bill Hall for a Flamenco Guitarist: http://www.rubenflores.com/
  15. I was at the game on May 27th of this year, and I believe that Braun hit one of the cables with a pop up, that was caught by Brendan Ryan.
  16. My contribution to the terrible music discussion: Enjoy.
  17. I'm not sure if it's the same flooding that everyone else is thinking of, but in June of 1997, I attended a Sunday afternoon game that was played only after helicoptors were brought in to help dry the fields after heavy overnight rain.
  18. I think that the Twins are quite happy that they chose Mauer over Mark Prior in that draft.
  19. Well, it looks like Nottso's post pretty much ends the initial purpose of this thread. I'm not a motorcycle person...but have heard something like this stated several times in regards to people who ride motorcycles: "There are only two types of Motorcycle riders...those who have laid the bike down, and those who are going to lay the bike down." I'd be interested to hear from the motorcycle folks...have you gone down on the bike? Anyone quit riding after a spill? Have a serious spill and still ride? A friend of mine went through a deer on his bike, and nearly died. He swore off riding after that, but eventually got back into it.
  20. Link I never really got into this show, but I know there are others on the site that have, so this should be welcome news for them.
  21. They should mount a display board there AND keep selling the Uecker tickets there. I think it is quite fitting that the Uecker seats would have a great view of the scoreboard....just happens to be the back of the scoreboard.
  22. "That's what she said"
  23. This is sure better than sliding onto a platform, but I still hope that someday Bernie will slide into a mug of Root Beer.
  24. The biggest gap comes between 1986 and 1995. Where was this suspect in this nine-year span? In LaCrosse, pushing drunk college students into the Mississippi River. In seriousness, this will be a very interesting case to watch unfold. It's very intriguing that this person is not in the national DNA database.
  25. RP- ? This is the one glaring weakness that I see in Jack Z's tenure with the Brewers. They were unable to produce serviceable bullpen arms during his time here. Mitch Stetter is really the only name that comes to mind in terms of home-grown relievers. Am I overlooking anybody?
