  1. I assume you're excluding Contreras and saying there isn't anyone else to come after him. The offense since the deadline hasn't been that bad. What happened before that is pretty irrelevant at this point.
  2. We've been scoring a lot of runs.
  3. Canha's OBP as a Brewer is getting pretty ridiculous.
  4. Can't complain about 35 pitches and 3 runs.
  5. Instead of a snide remark, you could just helpfully provide the correction that actually they aren't too geared toward hitting fly balls.
  6. Yep, those are two potential options for sure. SF and Arizona potentially have overperformed as well. If it comes out that he's retiring instead of coming back before voting takes place, I think he'll be the overwhelming winner as a recognition that he's been deserving any number of years and hasn't won yet. Even if he's back, with the decimation of the starting rotation, their record in one run games, I still think he has the strongest case (assuming current positions hold).
  7. Why would it take that? I think it's his to lose right now. Atlanta has a monster lineup, LA is LA, so it's more likely to go to someone in the 3-5 range. He may also benefit from being in the running multiple times and not coming away with it.
  8. I think in one of the latest game recaps from McCalvy it said that Counsell said a few things at the beginning and then let the players take it away.
  9. It's really surprising how much quieter his bat is in that Nashville AB. Why did he add such a giant chop this year?
  10. Between this, Trout's inability to return from wrist injury, and the general nosedive the Angels have done since the deadline, not trading him was really a terrible decision. Which figures, because it's the Angels. But at least they were trying!
  11. I mean, it's called don't click on the thread.
  12. Nice recovery. Let's walk this off now.
  13. Suddenly Adames, Santana, Canha, and Taylor are all producing. Offense not so bad anymore, go figure.
  14. 103? Abner bringing the heat today.
  15. Is it though, when they have demonstrated an inability to succeed at the highest level? If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results, it seems quite reasonable to attempt to rework a swing that has arguably failed. Perhaps this is parsing language too finely, but I think "abandoning the swing" is overstating a bit. The swing itself looks pretty much the same to me, it's the stance and load that has been altered.
  16. It's not productive to start debates about who's sane or not. Frankly, this whole thread is circular at this point, there's not really anything new to say. Keston's having a nice year in AAA. It may or may not be indicative of future success. I don't think many people are going to get upset if he's promoted, but ultimately there's not much to do - either the Brewers will bring him up or they won't.
  17. Because you don't need both teams to do something to break the tie. At this point, you would need 4 Brewers losses + 4 Reds wins PLUS one more of either of those for Cincinnati to come out on top. Conceptually it doesn't make sense right now because they're at a whole number, but if they were 3.5 GB right now, you wouldn't say they're really 4.5 GB because of the tie, they would be 4 GB.
  18. I abhor the uni advertisements. And for a few million a year, totally not worth it.
