  1. Why stop at 6th? I would put him 2nd but Roenicke would never do that. Obviously Weeks, Braun, and Prince are entrenched in their spots. Roenicke also seems to think Casey should be always 5th so 6th seems the next best.
  2. Alright this Lucroy batting 8th stuff needs to end. Put him 6th and leave him there.
  3. I don't know, I would think someone like Milton Bradley would be tossed right away. But that was Braun's 2nd ejection ever. I would think some umps know the guys and could tell if a guy was trying to show him up. Braun doesn't have that reputation. But obviously the umpire had a right to toss him, I just don't think he should've.
  4. Replay shows he slammed down the helmet and stared right at the ump saying you gotta be kidding me. Yeah just saw that part. Still, it looked like he said that last part after he was already tossed. I don't think he was trying to show up the ump though.
  5. Bill is wrong. Braun should not have been thrown out for that. He didn't say anything to him, he just slammed his helmet down in frustration. To me, that isn't an "automatic ejection" in the words of Bill.
  6. Are you sure that if he said that, it didn't have anything to do with Hart getting over his injury? I've never heard any manager said that about any starter, ever. This was being talked about in the Kotsay in CF/Roenicke idiot thread. Postgame comments last night: Did Corey not play yesterday because he needed a day off or was it Jimenez?
  7. did he say that hart isn't an everyday player, or that hart can be very streaky and sometimes can benefit from a day or two off in a week where he's not hitting well? I'm not trying to be condescending, I just haven't read the quote that you speak of. Because if he said/meant the latter, he's correct. When Corey isn't swinging the bat right, his timing is all of and he just isn't enjoyable to watch. I have no problem with him getting a day or two off if that's the case. He said something about Hart being one of those guys that he doesn't want out there nine innings every day. I agree he doesn't need to play nine innings every day but from other things he's said this year plus his actions early on, I think Kotsay could see 2-3 starts a week when Hart's off. I'm not a big Hart fan but he's better than Kotsay and should only be getting maybe 1 day a week off.
  8. I don't care how long he's played there in the past, he can't play there anymore. If this was an isolated incident with Roenicke, it wouldn't be a big deal. But this is just one of many dumb things that Roenicke does that could negatively affect the season. Sure it's only 4 games but it's 3 games in the past 2 weeks. And Roenicke's also said that he doesn't consider Hart an everyday player, which is just dumb. So that probably means that Kotsay will see more starts in right field once Hart's hot streak is over. It's the numerous little things like this that add up.
  9. How many times do I need to explain this? I don't care about the difference between Gomez and Kotsay when it comes to offense. We have enough offense right now. The difference between Kotsay and Gomez on defense is greater than the difference on offense (especially in a pitcher's park like Petco).Enough offense???? We couldn't score on the road and Kotsay was personally responsible for 3 of our 5 runs in our 5-2 victory at Petco. How many times do you need to explain what? Your opinion as fact?Explain the fact that Kotsay is a terrible defender and shouldn't be in CF. This is a fact, yes.
  10. Actually, I'm pretty sure this is the 4th start in CF, 2 of which were at Petco (one of the most spacious ballparks out there). And Gomez has actually been a lot better at home (small sample but still) than on the road. And I still don't get why Lucroy is 8th. Okay. Four. But it's tough to explain how Gomez and Kotsay have the same number of multi-hit games (6). How many times do I need to explain this? I don't care about the difference between Gomez and Kotsay when it comes to offense. We have enough offense right now. The difference between Kotsay and Gomez on defense is greater than the difference on offense (especially in a pitcher's park like Petco).

  12. I thought the video tribute on Raw was good tonight. I also loved CM Punk's pink and yellow tribute gear.
  13. Exactly. But during those 6 innings, he can be dominant. That's why I said he needs to learn to trust his stuff a little more and stop nibbling. Once he does that and hitters get themselves out, he will last longer and become dominant for 7-8 innings.
  14. There is a number between 1 and 3. He's probably a #2 at this point. He's also still only 25 and basically just needs to learn to trust his stuff a little more. Once he does, I think he will become a #1.
  15. I would probably agree. When Gomez was on first yesterday with Wolf up, I would've liked to have seen him steal second and then bunt him over. But the bunt was laid down on the first or second pitch and he didn't attempt a steal. Although if you bat Yuni 8th, he would probably still be swinging at the first pitch anyway so there wouldn't be a chance to steal there either. So actually, the pitcher may be more likely to take pitches over Yuni. Regardless, Gomez isn't in the 2 hole so that's good.
  16. Exactly, not using Boggs isn't the problem, it's just part of it. When you add that decision on top of all the other bad decisions Roenicke has made, that's what makes so many of us upset. The manager should be putting the team in the best possible position to succeed. I don't think he's done that so far. Roenicke was last on my list of the rumored top 4 and so far he definitely has shown me why. He might be a good guy and the players might like him but I don't think he knows how to manage a team very well. I actually would've liked to see Sveum get the job since most of the guys liked him and he seems to know how to manage somewhat.
  17. Kotsay in CF again tonight. Hopefully he plays as well as he did last night but I won't hold my breath. Although if he does have another game like last night, Roenicke might want to start him in CF every game for the next month or so.
  18. Alright I have to ask...Are you Ron Roenicke? What about that comment defended or thought it was a good idea to play him in center last night? I was agreeing with the general populous this is becoming more regular than I like. Geez. I was joking about the Roenicke comment. It seemed like you were defending every single decision Roenicke made so I thought it was funny. As for Kotsay, I really have no problem with his offense. He will draw some walks and every once in awhile collect a few hits like he did last night. Obviously his numbers will regress some over the course of the season. My problems is the fact that he's played so often and started twice already in CF. Anyone watching the game last night should be able to tell that he cost a run with allowing the single to fall in front of him (a ball that Gomez and probably Boggs and Hart if he was in CF would have caught), followed by the home run. He also drove in a couple of runs and got on base a few times. In the long run, however, his bad defense will probably outweigh his offense. I think the amount of plays he doesn't make in the field will outweigh anything he does offensively. Like I've said, he's fine as a 5th outfielder and getting the occasional start in RF. But last night was definitely not the norm and I think he will end up costing us more runs in the long run if he continues to start in CF. Hopefully this is all a moot point when Nyjer comes back.
  19. It's not his fault Roenicke is playing him in CF so I'd be headed to RRR's place.
  20. Wow, Gomez easily catches that ball. Boggs too. Sure Kotsay got us a run but his defense is still awful. Edit: And his defense also costs us a run. So I guess it's a wash now.
  21. You have got to be kidding me. How does Braun not score on that?
