  1. As has been said before the idea of the game is execution. The pitchers have to pitch well, the hitters have to stop laying off the sliders away, and quit windmilling at every pitch thrown up there! In watching the game yesterday, yes, there were some pitching mistakes, but there were defensive mistakes, and some awful swings brought to the plate. While Braun may have said what everyone was thinking, he stopped short of saying the complete truth. They have to play solid, fundamental defense, and take good approaches at the plate. When he calls out the entire team for not executing, then I'll give him credit. Until then, shut up, get your butt out there, and play ball!
  2. I was watching MLB network last night and both Mitch Williams and Joe Magrane were very surprised by this trade from the Pirates end. They made very solid points about how Morgan was a sparkplug for the team and a good clubhouse guy, and having Milledge really doesn't better the Pirates. They also had some quotes from Nosferatu (Jack Wilson, without a hat he REALLY does!) and interviewed Freddy Sanchez. Both guys seemed very surprised and unhappy about the trade.
  3. Bill Hall probably gives JJ a run (pun intended) for his money
  4. Guess no one is on the In-Game chat. Oh well. Good to see the Crew for the 3rd time this year. Hopefully they win! Love the MVP talk for Prince from ESPN in the open
  5. Rev, that is fantastic! I love how Carradine has his arm around Billy....not quite sure if those two would have hung out in the real world....maybe they are in the afterlife.
  6. Don't sell Ed McMahon short. He also died this week, too.
  7. Summer in San Antonio. Hasn't been under 90 during the day for the last 3-4 weeks. After spending 23 years of life living in Wisconsin, dealing with the sub-zero temps, snow, and weather I just generally hated, life is great. Although a bit of rain wouldn't hurt, I'm not complaining.
  8. I just finished watching "Pitch Men" on Discovery this morning, flip to Fox News, and they share the breaking news that Billy Mays is dead! Weird. My condolences to the Mays' family.
  9. Haudricourt is also not a supporter of fan site rumors, which made me laugh. I'd love the idea of getting Dougie back. A lefty in the rotation wouldn't hurt.
  10. Remember how celebrity deaths come in 3's? Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Jacko are quite the triumvirate! Wow. My condolences go out to the Jackson family. An icon has passed.
  11. As a former Bucks fan who has adopted the Spurs, I think this trade will help the Spurs. The struggle once that once Manu went down (as he pretty much does yearly), there wasn't another consistent scoring option other than Tony and Tim. Bowen's defense will be missed, and hopefully the Bucks to do release him and let him come back here. He's a genuinely good guy, and really enjoyed San Antonio.
  12. He testified? I thought he forgot English in front of Congress!
  13. Stuff-wise, yes. But I think part of being an ace is having a mental toughness, and that ain't something Big Z has.
  14. Because of all the discussion regarding the "aceyness" or brokenness of Sheets.
  15. Can the Cubs PLEASE sign him to a lifetime contract? They were meant for each other.
  16. Huh, I figured they'd pick the Red Sox to win the NL Central. Oh well.
  17. The fun part about reading all of this is think back 10-12 years ago. Heck, 8-9 years ago. Would anybody have seriously thought about some of the best pitchers on the block could or would come to Milwaukee? NO way! It goes to show what the leadership of the team over the last 10 years has done to make this team a contender, and one that players actually want to come play for, not as a last resort!
  18. I thought it was a really excellent, thought provoking show. But, apparently, I'm in the minority. I'll be enjoying the last 4 episodes.
  19. I tried not to get my hopes up, thinking it probably would be VICTOR Zambrano. If it's Craaaaa-Z, I'll believe it when I see it.
  20. One of my buddies here in SA got to know Mike and Mandy, as their kids were in tee ball together. Mike never flaunted the fact that he was a baseball player, and was a down to earth guy according to my buddy. Thanks for the interview.
