  1. That was quick. Didn't they trade for Gathright in the offseason? And wasn't Freel just an up and comer a few years ago with the Reds? And now the Orioles don't even want him? Huh.
  2. Jaws is not a bad choice, but Anchorman? Is that really big screen worthy? Don't get me wrong it is a fantastic movie, but I'd rather see something that would be a fun big screen movie. Although, I'd rather have all baseball movies, that's just me. You know, like Field of Dreams followed by Major League, with live commentary by Uecker. Now THAT would be awesome!
  3. I second the reading. Reading gives you knowledge which makes you smarter.
  4. Red Robin is good, but a local place here in San Antonio called Chris Madrid's is amazing! Their bacon cheeseburger not only causes cravings and puddles of drool to come out of my mouth, but their tostada burger causes the same reaction in my wife! It's a fun little local hole-in-the wall place that makes great food and is one of those places you need to visit when you're in San Antonio.
  5. I really enjoy sitting in the woods, waiting for that mushroom to come through the clearing....once I get that mushroom in the sights of my shotgun, I pull the trigger....oh wait, I guess that's animals that you hunt with a shotgun. Guess I was doing that wrong.
  6. I'll second the Hoff's brats. Living in Mayville for many years, we had lots of their brats. I loved the jalapeno brats! That's probably about the only thing I miss about living in Wisconsin is the overabundance of brats, but I can get some Johnsonvilles down here, stick them in the some Shiner and then throw them on the grill. That sounds really good....hmm....
  7. There are school districts just north of San Antonio that are closed through May 11th due to this. People are very concerned, and I guess you should be, but I think you just have to take extra precautions, like wash your hands, don't shake hands with someone and stick your hands in your eyes or your mouth. However, I've been a lot more careful, with a 2 and a half week old baby, because I may be OK, but I might pass something on to her. So I'm making sure to take all of the extra precautions possible.
  8. A-Rod is a jerk. Check. A-Rod is a jerk who stretches the rules of baseball (pitch-tipping, yelling "Hey" on a pop-up). Check. A-Rod is a jerk who may or may not have used steroids previous to his time with the Yankees? Given his track record, it's hard to give him the benefit of the doubt.
  9. Woot! Samldkjsagfgljkfnslvgillsdfgia is back!
  10. I'm a church musician, and am in total agreement with pitchleague. You've gotta check the action (the key actually hitting the string and making sound) and you should be able to get a piano tuned for under $100 if it's been taken care of. It looks like it's in good condition and been maintained, so if you can get it for $150, that's pretty good! Just make sure when you have it in your house, keep it on an interior wall so that it's not exposed to the weather changes as much.
  11. I'm just trying to share with folks that there are other options out there for living other than the cold and snow.
  12. Read Dave Ramey's material. Common sense stuff, but great things to follow! Just make sure to live within your means. That's what has gotten me into trouble. But slowly, I'm getting back on track. NO CREDIT CARDS
  13. I'll take Texans over Wisconsinites any day. No offense intended Wisconsinites. I've met a few I like. I just feel much more at home here. And I don't ever have to deal with snow, or if I ever do, it will be on a limited basis.
  14. Best bet, mid August. Things are already green and going here in Texas.
  15. So, she made it into the world yesterday morning at 12:26 AM. I'm screwed. She looks like her mother, and she's such a cutie. Thanks for all of the advice and I will try to follow as much of it as I can.
  16. That was outrageously awful last night. As I said in the chat, I think Cappy right now would be better than Soup. That was one so difficult to watch. If the Brewers want to go anywhere this year, Soup has to be out of the rotation. I'd say give up whatever is necessary for Peavy, if that's even a possibility.
  17. Dr. Pepper makes anything better.
  18. I sent in my tax returns yesterday. I just assumed that with most states having no money, that I may or may not see the money anytime soon. Still, much happier to be in Texas and not having to file state taxes.
  19. More reason for me to dislike the state of Wisconsin. I lived in the state for 1 month at the beginning of last year, then moved to Texas. I had a refund of $119. But to get it, I had to answer all these questions about not living in Wisconsin, not claiming an address in Wisconsin, blah, blah, blah. Because of that, I couldn't e-file my return. So I most definitely won't see my money until July or so! I'm glad Texas doesn't have state income tax.
  20. I am soooooooo happy the Brewers won! I really didn't think it was going to happen, but wow! It's like a switch has clicked in Rickie's head. He's had his moments of RicKiE, but, much improved at the plate and in the field. I hope that sticks around for the rest of the year! What a great opening day! Oh, and what an awesome slide by Rickie to win the game!
  21. I'm bummed that Samasafagkldfsnglkgsghopsgnsgnia isn't on the roster for the Cubs, because if he was I could type Samsalfdkjgsfdlkjfnhgofihugtsoifgnblfkjhia whenever he was warming up. Oh well. They're still the Cubs and they will get beaten down today!
  22. Which leads to the question, hits, homers or wins? Which will Yo end up with more of?
  23. Stunning. I heard it on the radio about an hour ago while running errands and my jaw literally dropped. Yes, baseball really doesn't matter at this point in time. My prayers are with the Angels team and Nick Adenhart's family. Also to the family of whoever else was in the car with him. What a tragedy.
  24. I probably won't be right. I'd love it if I was, but it's fun to be optimistic this time of year.
  25. Oh yeah, They'll go 1-161. Book it!
