  1. I think they will get 35 wins. I'm basing this on 2 things. It's opening day, therefore, hope springs eternal, and also, because they're good.
  2. Rich Harden's arm will fall off.
  3. Now all you need to do is run the shirt again, but on the back put the quote "He just lived his t-shirt" and there will be bunch of BF.netters lining up to buy it!
  4. Yeah, we're not planning on much cartoons. I'm a musician, so she's going to (and has been) very well versed in the good music. Classical, Jazz, Church Music (it's my job), Orchestral, and that will take more priority. I have a piano, keyboard and guitars. So she'll be playing along with me very quick, I hope. We do have a DVR, and that is a huge help anyway. I am planning on making sure that one of the things she gets with "daddy time" is not only musical indoctrination, but sports indoctrination as well. She will grow up liking the Packers, Brewers and Spurs. I'm leaving soccer up to her if she wants to play it or not. But I will encourage her to play sports, as well!
  5. That was awesome. Especially the "He just lived his t-shirt". Beautiful. You would think that Daron would have heard of the Happy Youngster. Oh well. Still fun.
  6. Probably half of them would be propped up by the Cubs folks at the next Ryne Sandberg, Ernie Banks and Ron Santo combined! :-)
  7. Wowsers! Lots of responses! Thanks all! This is very helpful! I've considered a gun, not for myself, but a shotgun for down the road if a boy decides to think about taking her out on a date. I've enjoyed sleep. I've been learning already that naps are quite important. My wife hasn't slept well for about the last month, so I haven't. We also have a dog and a cat, so I will quickly go from being the 4th most important being in the house to 5th. I am very excited and nervous at the same time, but I am very much looking forward to this major life change. It's something I've known I always wanted to be, and it's something I've been praying for for a long time. As for the belt, I am a firm believer in belts. Not only to hold my pants up. That might be a difficult thing to do when the time comes, but I don't think I'll resort to what my mother did when I talked back to her. Soap. Tasted NASTY! Anyway, thank you very much for your advice, encouragement and thoughts. Oh yeah, we do have 2 bathrooms. And a garage, so I think I'm set on that!
  8. We've already talked about that. She was an alright child, not too wild. Until she discovered boys in middle school. Then she was very boy-crazy. So it seems I'm good for another 10-12 years then I'm totally screwed.
  9. That won't be a problem. I bawled at my own wedding. I don't think I could make it through hers without tears.
  10. OK, my little girl will be born anytime in the next week and a half. Any advice on how to raise her without completely screwing up? She should be a lefty, as both my wife and I are, so I'm leaning toward raising her to be the first female LOOGL(girl?) in the Majors. Any tips, things to do, things not to do? Thank you in advance!
  11. Aren't all Bucks tickets up for grabs?
  12. We're potentially supposed to have frost tonight here in south Texas. That really sucks, but I'll take 60s during the day and 30s at night for about 2 nights as opposed to snow and cold and schizophrenic weather up north. We'll be back to mid 80s on Monday. I already have roses blooming!
  13. We have a Sams Club membership. We were encouraged to consider Costco, as we're having a baby anytime in the next 2 weeks, and the membership was twice as much (we have a business membership through my wife's Mary Kay business), and the diapers were pretty comparable in cost. The other nice part is we usually do some shopping at Wal-Mart and Sam's, and we buy gift cards to use to help keep us budgeted, and we can use the cards at both places.
  14. If you can get your hands on it, Shiner, Shiner, Shiner. Great Texas beer. Pretty much anything they put out, Light, Bock, Black....it's all good. Great flavor and taste, very smooth. You won't be sorry.
  15. Everyone should own a snuggie. They will make you look cult-like. My wife's uncle got one for her. The book light you get with it is cooler than the stupid backward robe. I would love to come up with something like "hey, let's wrap ourselves in a blanket" and make lots of money on it. Oh well. I guess that's why I write and play music.
  16. It really sucks that qualified people don't have jobs. The only advice I can give you is be creative. I am a church musician, and I was basically fired a few years ago, because the church had no money....long story. But I didn't want to work a "real" job (I went to college to teach religion and choir in Lutheran schools...quite marketable, I know) but I decided that I was going to try to teach private music lessons and see if I could earn a living on that. Thankfully, my wife had a full-time job. It was great, and thankfully, I'm back in a full-time position, and it all worked out. But if you have a hobby or skill that you could go into business for yourself, maybe that's a route to go down.
  17. Yeah....I had his '87 Topps future stars card....quite the star he became.
  18. The dancing old guy from the Six Flags commercials.
  19. They didn't, as he's in Seattle now.
  20. My wife and I went to a Baby Expo here in San Antonio this afternoon (our little girl is due within the next month) and Tyler Florence was there. He was giving away samples of his new baby food that's all natural, all organic. I don't know which was cooler....I talked to Tyler Florence or I ate baby food!
  21. I came up with an idea. What about signing Pedro, and piggybacking him with Soup? Soup can do his 3 innings and get taken out before the shelling starts, and Pedro can be the bridge to the BP.
  22. He looks like a dude who would drink Pina Coladas.
