  1. I keep coming back to 2 teams. Either Seattle or Toronto. There's an outside chance for Baltimore, but I'd lean more toward him going to Toronto. I don't discount the fact that he wants to obliterate everything his dad has done in MLB. He's said it in the past, why wouldn't you want to go to one of the places daddy has played.
  2. Yep....and that means the Cubs won't sign Prince.
  3. Probably because the league has the list and is dealing with it under the table...or behind closed doors....or whatever the case may be.
  4. This is just a weird story. Hurd is from San Antonio, so I've heard him interviewed on local sports talk radio. Guy would have a camp every summer and give back to the community.....as I've learned numerous times, a public persona isn't always who a person really is.
  5. Hey Craig, going off your musical tastes I was wondering what your thoughts were on the new Switchfoot album? Not sure if you are a fan but with some of the bands you listed I thought there might be a chance. It's great! Sorry, that was another one I loved this year. I got to see them live in August before the album came out, and they did a lot of the new ones....good stuff! I've read lots of reviews of Hello Hurricane, and didn't really get to listen to it. I loved The Beautiful Letdown as a beginning to end album, and the last few that I've heard didn't really do it for me. This one is really good!
  6. Problem is with spotify, yes, it's legal and free, but it pays the artists not a whole lot. I'm all for free stuff, but being a church musician, I understand what it's like making your living writing, singing and performing music. They need to pay bills and put food on their table as well. With noisetrade, you give your email and zip code, and yeah, you get on the band/artist's mailing list, but it makes a connection that you don't really get with the major labels....plus, in my opinion, musically, it's more creative and diverse!
  7. Really like what I have heard of The Reckoning and Young Love. Every Needtobreathe album, I say, "There's no way this band could get better", then their next one comes out. So far, top to bottom, it's their best yet. I really like Mat's sound and vibe, but Young Love is the most upbeat and cheery sounding album top to bottom. I've heard a few interviews with him about it. I really like it. Just to put in a plug, over the past year, I've come to this great website called noisetrade.com. All the music is free, you can give "tips" if you want, but it's how I heard Blitzen Trapper, Jonny Corndawg, and a bunch of other bands that I probably wouldn't have heard. Some artists have entire albums up, some just a few songs to give you a taste. It's awesome. I strongly recommend it!
  8. The ones I liked Civil Wars-- Barton Hollow Gungor-- Ghosts on the Earth Needtobreathe--The Reckoning Mat Kearney-- Young Love I forgot one more, because I haven't bought it yet....having a baby and all costs $$$ John Mark McMillan's Economy
  9. I think going from Lowrie to Punto is a downgrade. But it will be fun to watch.
  10. Rogers too, I believe.
  11. This is funny Waaa, waaa So, let me get this straight. They initially offer a 5 year, $130 million dollar deal, then bump it up to 10 years $210 million and you're mad just because of their initial offer? That's called negotiating, folks. This is how businesses are run.
  12. And once again, a proposed Chris Paul trade to a LA based team falls through.....wow. The fallout from this should be interesting!
  13. I don't know. Would it hurt to listen to trade offers. Need to get a ML ready starting pitcher, a SS at AAA and 2 other blue chip prospects in return. I'd consider it. But I'm not a MLB GM.
  14. Yeah, if it's been known for a month, wouldn't immediately have been the better time? I'm guessing the writers would have had some kind of emergency meeting to reconsider and change their MVP votes.
  15. The better question is how do you get synthetic testosterone into your body? It sounds like he tested at more than 4 times the average level and then subsequent tests revealed that the testosterone was synthetic. No OTC product on the market is proven to elevate testosterone and there is certainly no OTC product which provides synthetic testosterone. He would have to have been prescribed a product such as Androgel, and to legally be taking a synthetic hormone requires league approval before use. Needless to say, this doesn't look good for Braun or the Brewers.Yeah. I want to believe him and give him the benefit of the doubt, but it's hard to with those facts. And what I don't get is how do professional athletes who use their bodies to make millions of dollars, take stuff and not know how it will affect them? Or, knowing they'll be tested for it, figure out whether it will show up on the test?
  16. So, with Braun now being out 50 games, what to do about LF? Move Hart over to left and play Gamel/Gindl in RF? Sign someone who can start in LF for those games?
  17. Last time I checked, Barry Bonds is available, as is Manny Ramirez and for the right price, Jose Canseco might consider returning.
  18. I wonder if Paul is even going to play this year. If he requested a trade, one was worked out and the commissioner himself said no, then why play?
  19. What bugs me about the trade/no trade is Stern says it's in the best interest of the NBA for CP3 to be in NO. That's like Bud saying, nope, Pujols can't sign as a free agent with the Angels....or, back in the day, Tags saying, nope, Reggie can't sign with the Packers. Stern is a tool, and has been for many years. I hope he gets the boot.
  20. It will not be Yuni. Let's be done with this conversation!
  21. Oh my gosh, this is awesome!!! Not as awesome as Reyes or Rollins, but heck, it signals NO MORE YUNI!!! For that, we all rejoice!
  22. Maybe he wanted to get away from McGwire and his "hitting techniques"....or maybe it's because he's actually 35 and realizes that as he gets older, it's going to be tougher for him to fool people with actually being able to play the field. Or, maybe he is actually a machine and he just did what his creator told him to do?
