  1. I'd like to see them save Parra for Game 4 and Soup for 5. In the long term, it make no difference if we hold Parra back. I'd rather have him against the Cubs than Looper. Overall, it really doesn't matter and makes my point literally moot.
  2. Doug was not going to go into the season standing pat with what he had. He gambled on Looper's price coming down and won. He also was in on Randy Wolf, but Wolf wanted to play in LA more than Milwaukee.
  3. What are you basing this on?We will have to wait and see in the next two weeks. Doug will get it done.
  4. There are a couple offers on the table for #4/5 Type starters. We will find out if those offers are taken in the next week. They will not go into the season without adding some depth to the rotation but it has to be for the right price. Doug is scared to death of the depth of starters as currently laid out although he is saying he is fine with it just in case he gets stuck with it. This has been a odd off-season. Be patient.
  5. Have to exchange by Monday, Jan 19th.
  6. Sorry, Vinny not a big league player. Hernan may be a choice off the bench this year.
  7. I doubt the Yanks would do that now because it would help the Brewers in getting Sabathia.
  8. I would think after last year those guys wouldn't even bring Linebrink again~ Thatcher was terrible, Garrison had a pretty mediocre season as a 21 year old in AA and Inman had 71 BBs in just 135.1 IP in his 2nd trip to AA. Well put. Maybe people can finally put that trade to rest.
  9. I, for one, was excited about Suppan coming. Now I realize better. CC is the Greg Maddux of 1991. The Cubs did not want to pay and they paid long term. I really admire the Brewers for giving it their best shot and if they dont get him, so be it. At least we know that this is not a token offer.
  10. Well, I will just deal with it and move on. Macha...yikes.
  11. As i have posted, I knew these guys had very limited windows and so many people got wrapped up in them. Still, I think Inman will be a MLB player as a fifth starter or reliever.
  12. Brenlly. I think he learned from his experience in Arizona both good and bad. Randolph is Yost like I posted earlier. Macha could be the worst choice because I hear from a couple inside sources that he is an ass. They actually said worse things I can't type. He is a bigger prick of misery than Yost too and as "fake" as they come. However, whoever they pick, I will give them a fair chance and then voice an opinion. I just really hope it is not Macha.
  13. Praise the lord. If the guy stinks, then we can rip em. Let's see what he can do first.
  14. The difference is your examples were unknowns. We've got some proven faulty-brained candidates poised to land this job. Randolph and Brenley are lateral from Yost at best. At least Macha should be lateral at worst. Probably better overall.Ok, your opinion is noted. How about Joe Torre, Bobby Cox, and Terry Francona. All failed pretty miserably before and now are known successes.
  15. People-let's give the new manager a chance and then let's form opinions. There are negatives about everybody out there. Who really wanted Mike McCarthy over a list of other bigger names? Who wanted Holmgren over Bill Parcells? Who wanted Mike Sherm-ok, bad example. Let's just agree that every candidate is probably a better option than Yost (except maybe Randolph who likes to rest his entire starting lineup at times) and just let the chips fall as they may.
  16. I respect everyone's opinion but there are some things I just don't understand, I guess. I don't get why 5 minutes of hand waving really matters to people. You just saw those same guys for three hours plus during the game. If they were coming to see you personally to say thanks, that would be different because it seems a heck of a lot more genuine.
  17. They have done plenty more than the average major league team. Give them a break. They just got beat. Would you rather have them dragged out by ownership so they can give fake political waves and smiles?
  18. The Brewers are first priority is this situation. However, still not cool that they put these two on at the same time. Just dumb and irritating. Eagles playing at noon too. Yikes.
  19. Just got home. Took a half day like the rest of us in Chicago. My Manager a huge Cubs/baseball fan and said to load up MON and TUE and leave after lunch today and leave at three tomorrow. Nice...
  20. Ben Diggins! That is awesome. Did he not just have one start in Chicago where he didnt get out of the first?
  21. Bingo. Bush in Philly is scary, but you can't start him Game 1 and he has no chance to pitch Game 2. This makes the most sense because if gallardo can only go five, the bullpen is fully rested for game one and you cannot really rush him on three days rest for Game 4. He could then be available in the pen maybe for that game or a game 5.
  22. I have been celebrating for over 3 hours now but we have to look at this fact. Corey Hart is killing this team right now. I wish we had Kapler, but what can you do?
  23. I respectfully disagree. I actually think Hart has been lucky to hit .165 this month. He's had a lot of bloopers and seeing eye singles. I don't think it has been fluky. And I think we now have a season as a whole to look at and we can see that he has underachieved overall.
