  1. I live in Chicago and I think there are plenty of really attractive women in Milwaukee....more than most outsiders give it credit for. I disagree. At least that was not true when I lived there in the 90s. Check this out. Where is Milwaukee? http://www.enewspf.com/in...8893&Itemid=88889609
  2. Chicago as a whole-yes. They are overweight. I was referring more to style, I guess. I was too general. Come out here some time and I lead you to some of the best places with some amazing talent where you will be awestruck. It was part of the draw that brought me here at 23. I have also recruited 4 Wisconsonites here since I moved. It all depends on your lifestyle. Wisconsin is a great place to raise a family and have a nice laid back atmosphere; no doubt. I miss it sometimes. If you are single in Wisco...not so much. Enought of that stupid argument. I love the Brewers like everyone on here does and I hate the Cubs. Let's agree on that. (BTW, Doug is my neighbor here too in Chicago. Good guy.)
  3. Trust me, most people from Wisconsin need a makeover. Most in my family, for instance. I couldn't resist. I put in 23 years there in Wisco myself and I guess my Chicago attitude just hit me. No wonder you hate Cub fans. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. Very good argument here. I think it can go either way. In my opinion, I say keep this up thru April and then reevaluate things then. Still too small of a sample for me.
  5. Good point. I started this thread because I do believe we will be 6-12 after this tough road trip. That does not mean that I am giving up on this team. I would like to see the team around .500 and healthy on June 1st. Then Doug and Mark A. can either decide to go for it or trade to release salary for next year. I predict 81 wins though.
  6. I say 6-12 is realistic record when this road trip is over. Anyone see differently? Mets- Will lose against Santana on Saturday and Suppan will explode on Sunday. (3-9) Phillies- Will win one game against equally bad bullpen of Phillies. (4-11) Astros- Will win 2 out of 3 versus hapless Astros. (6-12)
  7. I have a weird theory that Braun is just not right. There is no way that he would take this many walks unless something really was.
  8. If it was me, a DL stint is the way to go. He has been simply awful, but I would rather no release him. Save that DFA for Julio when Hoffman gets called back. (My sources say Hoffman probably will be throwing off mound by Tuesday or Wednesday, btw.)
  9. 1. I will continue to defend Rickie. 2. I will continue to rip Hall mercilessly and hope for a long benching even though we have nobody to really replace him. 3. I will calm down more and not get losses get to me as much. 4. I will continue to hate the Cubs and root for them to lose as much as I almost root for Brewers to win. (It is tough living here in Chicago.)
  10. I am back again to vent my frustrations on Bill Hall. This is a different games if he moves runner over with fundamentals in 5th. Then he rolls over a pitch when he is ahead of the count and meekly rolls into double play. I know Suppan was awful, but I cannot take anymore of this Hall nonsense. I know McGahee is not the answer, but he is better than Hall.
  11. AT&T is the nicest park that I have been to. (Both old New York parks, Fenway, Metrodome, Wrigs, US Cell, Coors, SkyDome, Busch I have to compare to.) Have fun. The views are outstanding, the bathrooms are accessible, parking is easy, the food variety is amazing, the beer variety is great, and the fans are pleasant. Have fun! I'm adding Petco and Dodger stadium the first weekend of August. Hopefully, I can get some good advice.
  12. Yes, it would be ugly. But I do believe we could hang on enough to make a trade by late June if we could unload Hall. Remember, he is not that good either.
  13. Did you guys watch Hall last year? I mean, really? His defense was not good to the human eye no matter what stat you bring up. His offense was offensive. He is selfish and does not like to make adjustments except for his stances. One of the coaches told me he was an "excuse maker." I know for a fact that Doug was trying to package Hall in that Yankee trade too. Too bad that Kei Igawa had to be involved in it. I guess Hall is actually better than someone.
  14. From what source? Checking another source(Dial's I think it is) I see him coming out at 4.8 runs above replacement. There is absolutely no way he was -5.7 games, I could buy runs but certainly not games. My fault, VORP -5.4. Amongst the worst in the league and THE worst on the Brewers.
  15. Fangraph is wrong on this one. Hall's value was negative last season. He was -5.7 games, the worst on the Brewers. He was overpaid.
  16. He sounds more like Thom Brennaman to me.
  17. Pat Highes is a Milwaukee guy announcing for the Cubs and last I knew he still lived in Milwaukee and has close ties with Marquette. This just evens the score a bit.
  18. I love Extra Innings. I live in Chicago with cub manure and it keeps me away from watching Kermit the Frog (Len) and idiot Brenly. MLB.TV still has some glitches. I watch it when out of town on business trips and sometimes it works great and others it does not. A little annoying.
  19. It is nice to see Macha assert himself. I totally agree. Kendall should not start more than 125 games. You could see him tire a bit down the stretch and he is getting no younger.
  20. It looks like Vinny may clear waivers. If he does, it means 29 other teams really didn't think too much of him either. Has any other players beat these long odds? Yes, but Vinny's chances to succeed here are extremely low unless he explodes this spring training. I just don't see his value. I mean, look at his AAA stats last year. IMO, I believe Casey Mc. has a far better chance to succeed here (esp with Hall's injury) than Rottino.
  21. True, was not as bad last year. I am too lazy to look back and find proof but there were more than a few comments about Rottino's so-called value to the team that made me cringe. Now I'm waiting for people to try to get Joe Dillon back and try to justify his value. (fixed code --1992)
  22. I want to wish Vinny the best of luck first of all. However, I am so glad that I will not have to hear people pine for Rottino anymore. Thank god.
  23. The Brewers are not interested in Bobby A. or Dunn at all right now especially after Looper signing. Doug was definitely interested in Dunn and kinda has been over the last couple of years. Remember, he almost got him a couple seasons ago. However, once Cameron deal fell through and there were no good deals for Hart out there, Dunn had no spot on this team.
  24. Bill Hall's VORP at -5.4 was the absolute worst on the Brewer's last year. I personally can't stand his approach at the plate. It is laughable. He hits some mistakes, but usually fouls them back and then swears at himself before screwing himself into the ground on the next pitch. I wouldn't put too much stock on the Lasiks turning things around. I think many of us enjoy a punching bag on this team and this guy has been mine the last two years and will continue to be.
