  1. Calling the Brewers "dead" is just ignorant. They're a first place team-- the rest of those teams on that list are a long shot. If the season ended today, the Brewers would be in the playoffs. I hope the guys at Fire Joe Morgan pick up on this article.
  2. If the Braves are completely out of the race, though, is there a possibility that Bobby Cox will start a couple of young pitchers or maybe start some of his Sep. call-ups? I heard somebody mention this on WSSP, and I think it may be plausible, considering the Cox-Yost connection. Or maybe I'm just thinking wishfully...
  3. I'll try to find some stats from the past two years, but hasn't Dave Bush been remarkably awful at GABP, especially in the first inning?
  4. I don't think the announced attendance will be under 30,000, but tomorrow's game is a bobblehead, and from what I've seen, there are still a ton of tickets available.
  5. Cubs lead 3-2, top 7th.
  6. It's go-time, Brewers. In 8 hours, it's going to be September. The Cubs are going to lose, so let's get a game back tonight.
  7. Hmm, well I think Corey redeemed himself. Very nice.
  8. That's ridiculous. How could that possibly be an error. Poor Manny.
  9. Knock on wood, but it's nice to make Lilly work really hard this inning.
  10. Cubs: 83-79 Brewers: 82-80 Cardinals: 79-83 Elsewhere... AL East: BOS AL Central: CLE AL West: LAA AL WC: SEA NL East: NYM NL Central: CHC NL West: ARZ NL WC: SD
  11. I'm looking for a pair of seats for Labor Day, Monday, September 3, against Houston. If anyone would like to trade a bobblehead or two from this year, and/or the Nesting Doll Set, which will be distributed on Sunday, or if you have something else in mind, please let me know. Thanks!
  12. Phillies and Mariners I've always wondered--if the Phillies hadn't won the WS in 1980, would they have the same legacy as the Cubs?
  13. This is a really big game. A 2 1/2 game deficit is going to be quite difficult to dig out of, considering the way this team has been playing.
  14. I hope everyone heard me on the WSSP postgame show. I was Dan from Hartland. I went nuts. Said I'd rather have Davey Nelson manage than Yost. . I did. This show is sure entertaining today. Great therapy after this loss.
  15. Good news. I lost my Brewers wristband after that tough loss the Phillies. I've been wearing the band every game since the start of the 2005 season, and the Brewers have had terrible luck when I don't wear it. I just found it. I'm wearing it tonight, so I think I can guarantee a W. Heck, if they sweep the Reds, I'll start growing a postseason beard, too. We need some good mojo flowing.
  16. Cubs take a 1-0 lead in the 1st.
  17. I honestly believe that the Cards' 6 games at MP will end any hopes they had of winning the division. IMO, this will remain a 2-team race, unless the Cardinals can sweep us this week. Don't underestimate that 7-game homestand at the end of September. Call me crazy, but I believe that the young Brewers will thrive against STL and SD behind the support of rabid sellout crowds all week long. I don't believe it'll matter if the Padres are out of the race; the Brewers being at home is the single most important element of that series. We have to hope for three things, I guess: the Brewers absolutely, positively cannot get swept at Wrigley Field. Secondly, the Dodgers need to wake up before Labor Day, when they play four at Wrigley. Lastly, the Brewers need to split the road series in Atlanta. Most importantly, the Crew needs to take care of business against bad teams at home, and keep their collective heads above water on the road. Remember, we still have the upper hand in this race.
  18. Why don't the attendants just put a sharpie black line on each ticket when they hand a person a bobblehead, can it be that easy????? It seems like an obvious solution. The Packers marked tickets with a Sharpie on Brett Favre Figurine Day last season.
  19. A couple more outings like this by Vargas, and he'll be out of the rotation. I guess there is a bright side to tonight's game.
  20. Davey Lopes is the Phillies' third base coach, and I didn't hear one person boo him during the three games this weekend. I thought he deserved boos more than Wes Helms did.
  21. I was there for two games this weekend. Cardinal fans are not only class acts, but are attentive and intelligent. It was easily the best baseball experience I've had and would reccomend to all fans looking for a Brewers road trip.
  22. I believe that the seven game homestand at the end of the season just may propel the Brewers to a division title. However, I do believe the Cubs are the stronger team this year and will take the Central. I dread September 26 or 27 or so, the day I'll watch the Cubs celebrate their divsion championship while I wallow in disgust.
  23. www.retrosheet.org/boxese...HA2005.htm Very similar to what happened in that game (2005 ALCS, Game Two). A bad call on a foul tip, basically.
  24. I absolutely love the intensity from the crowd tonight. I really hope it's like this tomorrow when I go.
  25. Adam Eaton sucks. Brewer fans, welcome to second place.
