  1. They added two pretty good relievers this offseason in Kela and Melancon so I'm not really sure what you're talking about.
  2. Hader talk starts at 17 minutes. Not really much there imo. https://www.iheart.com/podcast/256-the-darren-smith-show-30961693/episode/kevin-acee-ha-seong-kim-is-a-78080036/
  3. Are we even sure Andujar is a good hitter? I'm not convinced. You're talking about a guy who has to hit .300 to have an acceptable OBP and even then, it's barely acceptable. Drop him down to .280 and you're looking to upgrade your offense at the position. Drop him to .250 and he's a replacement level player or worse considering his defense.
  4. I feel like this should be stickied to the top of every board on this forum.
  5. We actually gave up something for this guy. I know this is the worst he's looked but he looks really bad and it's not even like this is a bad sequence of several games. It's all the same game.
  6. Yes, yes you will. Total trash show.
  7. I love how he condescends to fans questioning the Brewers not spending money because they're losing so much money and how the fans don't know what they're talking about. Sure Tom, I'm sure Mark has definitely opened the books for you.
  8. Doubt $6 million over 2 years would've gotten him to change his mind. I think at minimum you would have to guarantee 3 years.
  9. Didn't want any soulless baseball players anyways.
  10. I'm fine with it. It hasn't been that good lately (title of my sex tape.)
  11. Every year we get further away from the WCHA I think that I'll get used to the idea of the Big Ten and not miss the WCHA but damn I miss it. Especially Denver and North Dakota.
  12. If it was me I would probably just retire a champion.
  13. I think he's pretty clearly done but whatever. Throw a minor league contract at the home state guy and maybe he makes the team for a month as the mop up guy or something.
  14. If I was good with photoshop and wasn't lazy I'd put dreadlocks and a rastacap on a picture of Heyman.
  15. It took a .402 BABIP to get that .368 OBP. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's extremely unlikely to happen again. He was 22/23.... If you think Hiura has already passed his career peak, that's fair, it's not unreasonable, I just find it a depressing approach to being a Brewers fan. I don't know why you keep bringing up his age when it has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

  17. Not sure making the ball more difficult to hit hard is going to help a hitter who already has trouble hitting the ball hard.
  18. Yikes, I would hate to be so pessimistic that it is "super optimistic" to think Hiura will have an OBP above .325 It's not really that pessimistic. He's going to need to hit probably .250 to get to a .325 OBP with his walk rate and if his K rate stays in the 30-34% range he's probably going to need a .330-.350 BABIP to reach .250, which would be pretty lucky. He's a fairly low walk, high strikeout guy. That doesn't typically lead to very good OBPs unless there's some luck or wishcasting involved.
  19. Was Burnes a top 50? I know I'm splitting hairs here. I was just thinking him and Woodruff were both lower end top 100 guys. I don't think Lucroy ever cracked the top 100 and he ended up being arguably our best catcher in franchise history. He was high 40s to high 60s on various lists.
  20. I don't think this is close at all.
  21. His last full season he was also 118th out of 135 qualified hitters in ISO, which suggests, while maybe not swinging a noodle, he's not really swinging a bat either. Maybe a twig? Have you heard of this stat called OBP? It's not all about hitting HR. You were talking about swinging a noodle. That would imply power, would it not?

  23. wRC+ is a great measure of a player relative to all hitters in the league while ignoring their position. As a 2B, Wong is above average offensively. Since 2015 there have been 30 2nd basemen to have 2,000 plate appearances. Wong ranks 21st in wRC+. If we just take out the pandemic 2020 season and go to 2019 there were 19 qualified 2nd basemen, Wong was 10th in wRC+ and that was with a career high 108 wRC+. If we use his career 96 wRC+ he would've been 13th. He's just not in any way above average offensively at 2nd.
  24. Posted this in the other forum, but he's really not that bad of a hitter and he gets on at a good clip. But obviously his biggest asset is his glove at 2nd. 2018-20 vs. RHP: 2018-20 vs. LHP: A career wRC+ of 96 is not a good hitter. Even his best is just barely above average and for the most part he makes absolutely garbage contact so the fact that he doesn't strike out a lot isn't even that great.
