  1. He can play defense but he's not a good hitter at all. Not really sure why we gave him this much for multiple years.
  2. So are we counting 2020 or not? A lot of people say we can't count anything that happened in 2020 because, well, it was 2020. Now some are saying to look at 2020 to determine if the Reds were successful... Which is it? Count it if it makes another team look bad or a Brewers player look good. Discount it if it makes the Brewers or any of their players look bad. Duh.
  3. For a reliever. Good luck with that.
  4. You mean most of the same people freaking out now? Exactly. Meanwhile try to name all the big contracts the Rays hand out each offseason. Now try to name all the Brewers top prospects and compare them to the Rays. Let's also compare player development.
  5. He'd probably be one of our better hitters too.
  6. Well deserved but it's kind of amazing that this stuff doesn't come out in the hiring process.

    Pizza

I get the time component but pizza reheated in the microwave is gross.
  8. A utility infielder that we're trying to talk ourselves into with one year of a fluke WAR? Why would I want to watch the sequel when the original sucked?
  9. Is Yu really an ace though? Sure, he pitched like one (221 ERA+) for 76 IP in 2020, but in 2019 he only posted a 110 ERA+ in 178 IP, finishing 43rd by FIP based WAR & 31st by runs allowed based WAR out of 75 pitchers with at least 150 IP. In 2018 he was hurt & only threw 40 IP with an 85 ERA+. Add it all up & ZiPS projects him for 150 IP with a 120 ERA+ (3.2 WAR) in 2021, which is more of a solid #2. The only time in his career he really pitched like an ace for a full season was back in 2013 when he posted 209 IP with a 145 ERA+, finishing 12th by FIP based WAR & 2nd by runs allowed based WAR. He was pretty great in the 2nd half of 2019 the further he got away from his injury riddled 2018. After the all-star break he averaged over 6 innings per start, 81.2 innings, 2.76 ERA with 118 strikeouts and only 7 walks. Add that to this year and his last 25 starts he's posted a 2.40 ERA with 211 strikeouts and 21 walks in 157.2 innings. This board would be flipping their you know what if we got him
  10. Darvish and Caratini for Davies, Reginald Preciado, Yeison Santana, Owen Caissie, Ismael Mena. Pretty incredible deal for the Padres.
  11. No inside info but with the Darvish trade looking likely and the Cubs wanting "some MLB experience" in return, I would bet that Kim plays 2nd and Cronenworth is part of the package for Darvish.
  12. This seriously made it on mlb.com and I still can't believe it.
  13. But we're not getting high upside. We're getting hey maybe this guy can be average for a few years before he starts to get more expensive and isn't really worth the arbitration numbers or he turns into Travis Shaw or he's just never good to begin with. High upside requires us trading something of actual substance and we lack that now too. There are still plenty of guys who turn into All-Star players whose pedigree hasn't been set in stone at age 25. You have to accumulate them--guys like Travis Shaw and Jesus Aguilar and hope you hit on some. Those guys were cheap at age 25 and had/have high upside. They didn't though. They had a couple good years, turned into pumpkins, were traded for nothing or non-tendered in their first arby years. Shaw was expendable for the Red Sox because they actually had a talented guy with upside nearly ready to take his spot. What we got out of Shaw and Aguilar is basically the best you could reasonably expect trading for guys that aren't highly regarded.

  15. Their offense sucks and they're losing Bauer and they weren't good last year. Kind of makes sense to sell high on some of these guys.
  16. 30 yard punt, 35 yard return incoming.
  17. Way, way too early for it. I get that 100% with a minute left. I think the idea was basically give yourself two timeouts so you don't have to go for the onside kick. I guess they haven't paid attention to how bad our special teams are though.
  18. Offense isn't even trying to throw down the field. No wonder why they haven't scored in 10 years.
  19. Tell Rudolph. He's the only one that didn't know that. Left footed kicker- actually better from the left hash, FWIW. You mean right footed?
  20. There should be a P.J. Fleck cam that only goes on when something bad happens to Minnesota just to see that ass faces' reaction.
  21. That was the worst play call and throw of the year.
  22. It's like I'm watching the Packers try to tackle.
  23. Groshek is getting yards. Now would be a good time for some play action.
  24. His first of the game.
  25. Nothing. Just instead of going to arby 3 times, he goes 4.
