  1. Part of me is kind of hoping we sign all of these strong college commits/higher talent than where they were drafted guys and exceed our bonus pool by like 250% just to show MLB how stupid their draft system is.
  2. Just looking through the first 10 rounds the only player that will for sure sign a below slot deal is Allemand. That leaves almost no money to bring in Hooper or India, unless of course we want to give up at the bare minimum our 1st rounder next year, which would be silly. Wouldn't have been upset had they picked a couple more college seniors to save some money. Of course there was no guarantee the Brewers would have gotten Hooper or India and they might have ended up picking a few much worse players for no gain at all.
  3. He tweeted that he's 100% attending UCLA. Obviously things can change but I doubt we have the money to convince him to sign.
  4. Skye Bolt is the best name in the draft and it's not even close.
  5. Dangit. He was wearing #27 in his highlight video and now I can't get a Vlad Guerrero comparison out of my head.
  6. There's a Canadian. 62nd overall according to MLB.com.
  7. Some NSFW stuff in there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXyWCQeLxrc
  8. Good to see Broxton is our 8th inning guy again and picking up right where he left off.
  9. Suspension reduced to 6 games.
  10. Nelson was one of our two best starters coming into the game today and will still be one of our two best when he leaves. That's obviously not good but you would start by shipping out Lohse and Garza before Nelson and the chances that some minor league starter out pitches what Nelson provides is pretty small.
  11. I think if Ramirez was going to walk away and save the Brewers money, he would've done it in the winter.
  12. I'm not sure which was worse at that time: watching Mench arrive at the ballpark and thinking how disappointed I was that this guy was suppose to help replace some of the offense that was going to be missing with the Carlos Lee trade, OR listening to Daron Sutton over-hype someone that even casual fans knew was nothing more than a 4th OF/RH bat off the bench. The real return was Francisco Cordero, but that didn't stop Sutton from going over-the-top (something he excelled at) with his Mench-love that evening. Kind of wish I had access to FS Wisconsin during that trade because I would've loved to hear this.
  13. Bye Blatter!
  14. And minor league teams still need to provide a quality experience to their fans and the easiest way to do that is a winning team. The Brewers weren't providing them with that, so they moved on. To blame Nashville for looking for a better situation is ridiculous.
  15. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/305693041.html Another soccer game at Miller Park. Atlas vs Newcastle. Not a very interesting matchup to me.
  16. At least Wagner got to enjoy almost two games before being sent back down.
  17. The funny thing is they push that QB stat on their bottom line constantly, like they think people actually think it's worth something.
  18. Don't know what the fans thought they saw on the replay at the stadium but at best there wasn't enough evidence to overturn it and he looked out to me anyways. His fingers were hovering over the base but not on the base when Owings caught it. His hand hit the base a split second after the ball was caught.
  19. Even amid rumors that the Sounds were poised to drop the Brewers for a partnership with the Oakland A's, Melvin heard the same. He says the Brewers offered to play preseason exhibition games in Nashville, and even to invest in the club if it helped move the sides toward an extension of their PDC. Those overtures were declined without explanation, according to Melvin. He says he asked Sounds ownership three weeks ago, "If you're leaning toward not having us, just give us a heads up so we don't lose out on something else." "There was one out there that we would have liked to have gone to, we might have been able to go to," Melvin said, "and now we lost out on it." http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/95157658/brewers-general-manager-doug-melvin-miffed-by-breakup-with-triple-a-affiliate I'm just going back to a post I made on this back in September. The Brewers did this to themselves by giving Nashville terrible teams, teams that were so bad they no longer wanted to affiliate with the Brewers. Melvin also said they had opportunities to leave Nashville but stayed in the hopes that Nashville would be able to get a new stadium and want the Brewers to be apart of it. That's an error in judgment on the Brewers' part. Instead of getting out and getting into a vastly superior situation earlier, they ended up in again some of the worst facilities in the PCL and they have no one to blame but themselves.
  20. Nashville didn't bone the Brewers at all. Come on.
