  1. I wouldn't even care if it was Schafer. We're calling up a guy to play backup for half a season when we're terrible and losing would probably help us more than winning.
  2. I can't believe people would actually go to this during the game. Even if the game is terrible I wouldn't want to do it during the game. Granted I wouldn't want to do it at all but if I was going to do it it certainly wouldn't be during a game.
  3. Why the hell not? Just call someone up if Parra is traded. Sucks for Davis but has no impact on whether or not we'll trade Parra.
  4. Brian: "We apologize for the technical difficulties. We have a hard working crew working as fast as they can to get the picture back to you." Brewers fans: "No rush."
  5. Yeah, I had to mute it. He isn't good at all. Wish Kapler was still an announcer.
  6. Stuff like this happens a lot. Player can't hit but he's in the majors so he must be good at something. I know, great defensive player!
  7. Errant throw by Lohse allows a run to score. Next batter doubles, they send Owings, Segura makes a perfect throw home but Maldonado can't catch it and now Hellickson singles and just like that it's 3-1.
  8. Brewers rescind DFA of Kintzler and put him on the DL after learning about a knee injury. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/05/brewers-designate-brandon-kintzler-for-assignment-2.html
  9. I think Beane completely overreacted to the bad stretch by the A's last year and sold a bunch of really good to great players for pennies on the dollar. I get shaking some things up. The team barely held on to their playoff spot and hadn't won a playoff series but he just went out and gutted a team that didn't need it. It was actually pretty weird. He made a bunch of rebuilding type moves and then later went out and traded for Escobar (later traded for Clippard) and Zobrist.
  10. I'm sure teams will be knocking down our door for Garza.
  11. So they're saying Blazek is an option and Fiers on short rest is another. How stupid is this team? A reliever as a starter or putting a guy on short rest for no reason.
  12. So 4 man rotation? Kintzler sent down to call up Thornburg who starts?
  13. Pretty sure Brian made a joke today about Counsell saying it was a scheduled day off for Braun and Ramirez. He said something like "maybe he can schedule different days off next time." Was kind of surprised to hear that but it made me laugh.
  14. I don't think asking for Holmes would be crazy if Coletti was still the GM. Unfortunately they now have Friedman who I suspect will still run the team like a small market but with the ability to spend a quarter billion on payroll.
  15. Trying to bunt with 2 outs and 1 strike already down by a run in the 9th. That is special.
  16. Anderson wondering on air if the Brewers have any interest in Casey McGehee after the Giants DFA'd him.
  17. Sunday lineup SS Luis Sardinas RF Gerardo Parra CF Carlos Gomez 1B Adam Lind LF Khris Davis 3B Elian Herrera 2B Hector Gomez C Martin Maldonado RHP Jimmy Nelson
  18. I think many of us would be ecstatic if the Brewers did what the Braves have done this past offseason leading right up to the start of the regular season. Unfortunately, for the Brewers to get the pieces that the Braves did we would have to trade Gomez and Lucroy. Many of us don't think the Brewers would consider that, especially with Lucroy.
  19. Eh, what games other than today has he really blown? He's obviously not a good pitcher and probably shouldn't be on the roster but he hasn't really blown any games. He gave up two runs a couple days ago when we were already losing 8-1. He pitched in the 14-1 loss against. He's pitched two scoreless innings against the White Sox. He gave up 2 runs, 1 earned in a 7-6 loss to the Cubs. To be fair though, the Brewers were losing 5-3 in the 8th when he came in so it's not like they had the lead and he blew it and Gennett made a horrible error to keep that inning going and give them an extra run. I'm sure Kintzler wouldn't have been put in the game if they knew the Braun was going to hit a 3-run homer in the 9th.
  20. Using this logic, we should never talk about any trade or free agent signing or draft pick or manager move. They did what they did, time to move on. Your point of view on this is ridiculous.
  21. They would have to go 75-45 to break 90 wins. That's a 101 win pace for 75% of the season. The last Brewers team to win at that pace for that long was in 2011 and this team is nowhere close to that team. That team had five well above average offensive contributors. If Lucroy comes back and hits like he has the last few years and if Parra keeps up his pace or if Ramirez or Davis replaces what Parra is doing the Brewers would also have 5 though not as good as the group of Fielder, Braun, Hart, Weeks, Morgan. The big thing is the pitching though. This year's Brewers have one starting pitcher with a FIP under 4. The 2011 team had 3 and none with a FIP higher than 4.29. The bullpen in 2011 was also rock solid. This bullpen is the antithesis of rock solid.
  22. 8 seems harsh considering he could theoretically pitch 4 of those games. Pineda got 10 but he was really only going to pitch 2 of those games.
  23. We're both right and wrong. It was a 4/$84M extension that starts in 2016; the Red Sox also have to pay him the $12.5M owed to him for 2015, so the Red Sox are paying him 5/$96.5M. How does that make you right when you said 6/115? Even though they have to pay him this year, the extension itself was 4/82.5.
  24. It's for however long he signs the deal. If it's 3 years, the deal is 3 years. If it's 4, he's signed for 4. Parker would go through the offers, pick the one he wants and the Bucks would match that offer.
