  1. isn't it way too early for this. 2017 is not even over and they are still in the wild card. nobody knows what DS will do. I think they will add a decent SP and try to fix the pen and keep everyday player roster as close to the same as possible but who knows?
  2. yeah there is really nothing the brewers can do, while there are people from Illinois that come down its not a majority. also remember that Kenosha and Racine are are probably 50/50 between brewers / cubs fans. nothing you can do about that. personally i think jacking up the price for these series only keeps brewer fans away. cubs fans are going to come also even the more expensive pricing is still cheaper than Wrigley by a good margin. personally why should i pay 1.5X face value from the brewers to feel like a visitor in my own park, when i can go to a reds game, pay the regular price and have a better experience.
  3. I don't know the answer to what to do with Arcia. tough to leave sogard and walker out of the lineup for their bat especially against a righty.
  4. the bucks are maxed out offseason rosterwise with the signing of Gerald Green today. so I think that the bucks cannot sign anyone to 2 way contacts? Is that correct? Since this is a new feature this offseason, I am not 100% certain of how it works.
  5. bucks signed Kendall Marshall to a training camp contract, I think the odds are against him making the opening day roster, but he did a very good job before getting hurt in his one season with the bucks. I know the bucks embrace positionless basketball but with a roster with one true PG, he would be a good backup.
  6. I think Hader should have pitched the 8th, but there is no way I would put in Garza in a tie game down the stretch. Now Swarzak and Knebel are both not available tonight in a game that they need to win. I think a case could have been made to let Hader finish the game and save the pen for the cubs series.
  7. Cubs get the Rays, Brewers, Cards, and Reds to finish off the season, which means unless the cards get hot they are playing 3 teams with nothing but pride to play for. (the brewers are in the same situation though) Clearly the brewers need to win 3 out of 4 this weekend and they cannot lose a series down the stretch to even have a chance. I think the brewers need to go 9-3 to have a shot at this, which is 89 wins.
  8. I would hope that the brewers do not hold out for a new stadium to move to Tuscon. I think the biggest thing should be to get out of Maryviale so if you get a slightly older facility that will meet all of your needs in a better neighborhood, you should take it. its a very tough sell in my opinion to convince tax payers to build a new facility for a team you have no connection to to play games there for a month. Frankly i am surprised any city will take that deal without the MLB team, unless to lure diamondbacks or a one of the florida teams to florida, paying a large portion of the stadium costs.
  9. it hasn't been, it has been assumed that they will use him to get through the game without burning through their key arms.
  10. I don't get the Jungmann thing, maybe he isn't 100%? you would think someone with a 2.59 ERA in CS would be worth to get the start tonight.
  11. I agree, I'd start Wilkerson and see what happens, everyone knows he will pitch a few innings tonight so why not just start him.
  12. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/09/brewers-dfa-yadiel-rivera-promote-aaron-wilkerson.html This move makes sense, he didn't seem to have any value to the 25 man roster, I do wonder why they just didn't put Nelson on the 60 and worry about this after the season.
  13. I think he will pitch 2 innings, 3 max. so I don't think too much pressure. I am sure Wilkerson is slated to pitch 2 or 3 too to try to get to the back of the pen with a lead.
  14. I THINK that if he didn't pitch on 3 days rest he would miss the cubs series. I think this has more to do with this than anything. I THINK now he will pitch on the series finale.
  15. not familiar with the name, but he profiles as the type of prospect I was expecting the brewers would give up. not a nobody, but nowhere close to the organizations top 30.
  16. Im assuming the brewers don't want to put Davis on the 40 and have to remove him for the rule V players. Berry is not a concern and will be gone after the season from the 40
  17. I haven't paid as close of attention to the preseason because of the brewers but i will through out that either Janis or Cobb will be cut today. the WR cuts will be the most interesting to me today. also brown over gunter
  18. OK thanks for clearing that up, I figured there was more to the story
  19. forgive my ignorance, is his 2 biggest black marks on him 2 bad hits while with the niners? i had to google today what character flaws people were freaking out over.
  20. I get your point but that is small-town mentality and is going to cause Giannis to leave once his contract is up. the bucks needs to get superstars. Look at OKC, they have up a decent package to get PG13, even though its pretty common knowledge is he wants to be a laker after the season. the bucks need to get superstars while not drafting early in the draft, I don't know how you do that without making a move like this. its very possible that he will enjoy playing here, in a new arena and will commit long term. I have said that I am not sure how he fits on this squad though since its clear he wants to be the #1 option and he would be #2 here though.
  21. Packers actually signing Brooks! I like the signing, very good 3rd OLB
  22. id love to somehow get a new 7th inning guy since Barnes cannot be trusted any longer.
  23. I could see Cobb being cut, to keep McCaffrey or Dupre I think its fairly certain that Nelson, Adams, Janis, Davis, Yancy will make the team. this is as strong as a WR corp as I can remember.
  24. I'm going to go on my soapbox, the brewers should focus on getting guys with roots in Milwaukee. When they do they stay. This applies to tv stations, radio stations, sports teams, etc. When the brewers have a big search and find the "best candidate" they leave as soon as a better situation arises. When you hire a guy born here or played here for a long time, they stay. Really the only exception is Ted Davis and I guess you could say Brian Anderson since he has been here for 10 years now. Guys like Rock, Johnny Mac, McCarren, Homer have been doing games for 20 years plus because they are from here or played here. When Ueck does hang it up, the brewers would be smart to find someone like Dillard, Gorman, etc. Someone with a personality but has roots in the community.
  25. I am hoping Tim Dillard slides in for Uecker when he finally hangs it up. i wouldn't mind bringing him in as the 3rd guy once he finally retires until then. The issue with Levering and Grindle is that they are both play by play guys and the broadcast is very boring when Uecker takes a roadtrip off.
