  1. depends, if I was the GM and texas offered me Gallo for Lucroy, i'd take it, but it would have to be a very special player. In general I'd rather have a package. The brewers did very well for themselves taking 4 prospects for Gogo / Fiers. if the guy fails the trade is awful. In a package as long as 1 or 2 pan out it looks OK. Look what Cleveland got for CC, while LaPorta never panned out, they did OK for themselves with atleast Brantley.
  2. ON WSSP they said that teams were allegedly trying to clear contracts to make room for Plumlee, who knows how accurate that is. The market probably set him up for this type of contract, but there was no news on him visiting other teams or other teams interested in him.
  3. I would be OK with a trade involving Reed. I know he has struggled but still put up good numbers over his last month in triple A. The brewers are in position to let him grow without pressure.
  4. I don't know how much clout Hammond has, i still think this was a Kidd move. Hammond has 2 more seasons here and he is gone.
  5. Evan Turners contract of 4/70 is still the worst of the offseason IMO. I agree with you that if Leuer gets 4/42, than Plumlee should get 4/50 and he is a good fit for the team. My only criticism was that the bucks should have waited for another team to sign him to set the market for him.
  6. really looking forward to the draft tomorrow. The one thing i find odd is that such a popular guy like Foley is being paired with the heel commissioner in Steph. I wonder if Mick is turning heel for his role.
  7. I like it because it gives a larger advantage to the 3 teams that win their division and also increases the advantage to the team with the better wild card record. My issue with the system is that the team with the 5th best record could bring out a super hot pitcher and ride him to the DS.. Yeah your pen will be tired and you may have some issues with some starting pitching depth, but next season win your division.
  8. I was listening to DA on the way home today and someone called in with an interesting proposal to correct the wild card. Change it to a best of 3, all games at the team with the best record. There would be a day night doubleheader and if necessary a game 3 the next evening. It would only add one day to the playoffs and would prevent teams from simply winning the series by having the better ace.
  9. yeah i was looking for younger players to try to figure out what we could get in a trade. its not that strong of a system
  10. Lucroy to Detroit for: Beau Burrows, JaCoby Jones, Christin Stewart 2 young players that are 3 years away and Jones could help at 3rd by next season
  11. Hammond has never paid way more than market value instead of waiting for a restricted free agent to sign an offer sheet before and deciding to match. Oh wait. That's all he's done. its such a backwards way of doing it, the bucks have the advantage and you can wait for the market to bare out his worth. And honestly if you don't sign Miles Plumlee is that going to make a huge difference win wise over the next few seasons. I still think this is Kidd's doing and not Hammonds though.
  12. i understand that the new collective bargaining agreement has made contracts out of control, but Plumlee getting 4/52 to get 5 points a game, 4 boards and run some pick and rolls is insane. --------- Moderator note: Please feel free to use this topic to continue any discussion from the previous thread. 13. thanks I was leaning bour too for the reasons you outlined, our league is a point league. Homers were not a problem for me, but guys like Frazier and Cespedes have cooled on their hot start homerun pace.
  14. I normally don't post for advice but I am conflicted. I don't want to keep both these guys on the roster, right now carter is my 1st baseman, Justin bour is going to come off the dl this week, would you cut carter to make way for bour or just release bour once he is activated ESPN rules prohibit any roster moves with an active dl guy so I can't stash him
  15. I think its different. have you ever been to the stadium? I'm guessing not. There are boarded up strip malls right across the street from the ball park. Imagine if miller park was on 16th and National or 35th and North and then you can see why the brewers should leave. My comment was in jest but yes I have been to Maryvale a few times. While the neighborhood doesn't look great I've never felt unsafe there. neither did I, but there is a reason why they only play day games there

  17. This is hard, i think the price for some players is pretty high and nobody knows if Stearns is going to lower it closer to the deadline or steadfast. Im thinking DS will not back down so, I'll predict the following are gone: 1) Lucroy 2) Torres 3) Boyer
  18. i saw a little of the game, brogdon looked good in the 1st quarter. May be a decent pick. Regarding Thon he did have some nice stats which is important because he hasn't played against any high level competition before yesterday. very encouraging
  19. I think a team that takes someone like Lucroy will ask for Guerra too to help for the playoff push if the brewers want a Gomez type haul. I am fine with doing this again this season.
  20. i was hoping to get to see garin up here, but this makes sense. Perez and Middlebrooks will get the lions share at 3rd now and Rivera can fill in at 2nd and Short when needed. They may get down to 12 position players after the all star break once Davies is back up.
  21. the red sox's mlb.com top 30 prospects page was updated to remove rijo and he is not on the brewers list. i wonder if this means he isn't even a top 30 prospect in our system or the brewers site just wasn't updated yet
  22. its ok to have a second wave of prospects. Id rather get a younger player with potential then a fringe major leaguer. Yes if Lucroy gets traded i want atleast a young prospect or 2 that can help right away like Santana was, but for Hill you cannot expect much.
  23. Any chance that they bring up Garin Cecchini to fill the spot on the 25 man? He has been better of late.
