It's an absolute joke that this is a save situation. The Brewers have a 99% win probability:

but it helps my fantasy teams in the saves category

Save rule or not, that's the exact time to bring in the closer. Want to give him margin of error in case he throws the first pitch or two fat and gets taken out.

Nothing like playing the Marlins to stop a series losing streak, right? Aren't the Marlins the team that kick-started that crazy hot streak, too?

I believe Cordero could get shelled here for 10 runs and 5 homers, and not a single run would count as an "earned run", because it was assumed that the 3rd out should have occured on the error.

It was ruled a single and an error, wasn't it?

And even if it was just an error, Cordero could have picked up earned runs if he had allowed his own runners to score. No ER to the team, but there would have been ER to Cordero.

If you are going to use your closer when you have a 99% chance of winning, you won't have him when you actually need him.

I'm glad Yost used Cordero

1.One more baserunner puts the tying run at the plate

2.Cordero was up already, may as well have him get the last out to be sure.Wise is a fine reliever, but i'd rather not have him pitching with the chance at a three run jack than having the game over.If Cordero wasn't already up and ready to come in,then it's a different story.

It was 2 outs and it should have been three. Why bring in Cordero? Why was Wise pitching? Yost had been smartly using Spurling for these spots.

A decent lineup, however that bottom 3 seems like 3 guaranteed outs.

I thought so too, but I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Wow, sheetswannabe, I'm glad that cloud didn't get any closer to you than it already did.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I haven't posted anything about this game yet. I was trying to hit some golf balls but the Bridges' DR was closed. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif

But this was a great game to watch - the parts that I caught anyway - it was nice to see guys that had been struggling get in on the run production. Hardy and Fielder were a little quiet, but the rest of the team picked up the slack. Great to see. Hopefully this propels the team into another hot streak.

Man what a game to be at tonight. Outstanding. I still can't believe how well Mench and Graffy hit. Maybe Mench's trade value has now gone up a tad.

Braun's first HR was a shot! I was in the RF bleachers and that thing was bombed to CF. I really wanted Hardy to reach in the 8th so Braun had a shot at the triple for the cycle.

Billy was 1-3 with a walk, but another game with no K's and hes getting good wood on the ball, its only a matter of time now.

Corey Hart is da man.

Nice to see some other guys step up for a change. It's about time someone other than Prince or J.J. had a big game.

Corey Hart continues to impress.

The other day I was close to 320 posts, why am I at 314 again?

I've had the same problem with buckyville.

EZboard must be confused with how many boards you can post on or something.
