I think the difference is that last year he would have waited to let Soup work out of it, but he would have waited for another guy to get on base before he even got anyone up throwing in the bullpen. At least this time he was prepared. I still don't agree with it, but it seems like a slight upgrade.

Whether or not those outside corner pitches are strikes, you gotta at least try and fight it off and get another pitch, because you know he's been very liberal with the corners.

they shouldnt put in Gagne here. He has pitched too much lately to pitch here in a non-save situation. Could need him several innings from now, might not be a point in using him at all.

If this ends bady, the worst part will be hearing the Reds crowd cheer as if they've been vindicated after suffering unjustly all day long. I know it's expected that the crowd will feel like its team is being persecuted on days like this, but to back up this BS is embarrassing.

Gagne pitched back to back days so I wouldn't expect him to be out there in a tie game. I don't have a big problem with that though I'd agree with you if he were a bit fresher.
