No, it was Girardi. Grace wasn't with the Cubs in 02, he was with the Dbacks.

I turned to my wife during the "Alien Lizard Postgame show, sponsored by 'V'" yesterday and said "15-9. I do not know what to do with this information."

I still don't. Even in 04 when we were 7 up and about to hit the break, I still felt like there was a shoe yet to drop, and it did. While I still blame Moeller 'cause, c'mon, who doesn't, I just don't feel that other shoe there right now.

Oh, and we are Moeller-less.

I can't remember a time when there was already 50 messages in the IGT and the game was still almost 3 hours away. I think we all have officially contracted Brewer Fever!

As a Cub, Girardi announced to the fans at Wrigley Field that the game on June 22, 2002 versus the Cardinals had been canceled, though he did not announce that the cancellation was prompted by Darryl Kile's passing. Girardi tearfully gave the news at 3:37 p.m. EST, broadcast nationally on FOX: "I thank you for your patience. We regret to inform you because of a tragedy in the Cardinal family, the commissioner has canceled the game today. Please be respectful. You will find out eventually what has happened, and I ask that you say a prayer for the St. Louis Cardinals' family".

I still remember that. Joe Girardi was one of the (very) few Cubs that I could ever stomach.

As a Cub or Yankee I always liked Girardi. And that is saying a lot cause I very much dislike those teams. Hes a class guy. Still can't believe he wins manager of the year and then is out of Florida in 1 year.

Look for him back in Yankee pinstripes as early as this season if the Yanks can't start winning games with so many SPs injured. Many in the Bronx are calling for Torre's head already.

Even so, I'd imagine this is Joe T's last year anyway, which is one reason why I think Girardi didn't take the Cubs job. Well, that, and that it's the CUBS, and then the YANKEES!

One question: Do you trust ESPN that much? This is the network that brings you the W-L race in pitching....

Weeks hurt his index finger on his throwing hand, my buddy just heard it on the radio. Day to day.

No Hart for a couple days in a row as well.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

I assumed he had to be hurt... on a nationally televised game, you put your best lineup out there.

If Weeks is hurt I bet that means Counsell will be the leadoff hitter full time.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

I think Neddy is just giving him the old Bill Hall treatment from a few weeks ago...2 days off in a row and then hope for a hot streak.

Maybe like Billy after the 2 game benching...Weeks will blast a grand slammy on Tuesday.

i hope weeks isn't hurt bad....because if counsell and graffy are in the same line up with counsell leading off for more than today its not going to go so well.

Not the best lineup in the world, but Counsell has done well as a leadoff hitter.
