Yeah, I think they had Weeks if they try him at home, but I guess you take the sure out when you can get it.

 

Sheets looking MUCH sharper early on.

I was surprised that they cut off the throw.

Sheets even looks good at the plate!!!

EDIT: Looking at the big picture, I'm probably wrong about that. Awfully close play as it was. Do we ever get any love from Phil Cuzzi?

Sheets was safe there.... another close call goes against us incorrectly. How many of those have we had at the plate the last two years?

The first base line camera shot there seemed pretty conclusive on Sheets being safe.

 

I am A-OK with Sheets not sliding.

I bumped the Sveum thread after the decision to send Sheeter on that play. I don't want any starting pitcher involved on a play at the plate; I'd rather take my chances on the top of the order getting a base hit.

 

Part of the problem was that Sheets didn't have a good jump, as he had to make sure the ball wasn't caught....but that's all the more reason not to wave him around on that play.

Sheets threw fastball of 94,96 and 96 MPH to Wigginton. We know he can do that if he wants but I'd rather he not be getting crazy after his tricep scare.
