"ATLANTA -- A 25-year-old man died after suffering fatal head injuries at Turner Field near the conclusion of Wednesday night's game between the Braves and the Mets.

...

While the Braves and Atlanta Police Department are still investigating, there is a belief that Hayes may have been sliding down the handrails before falling approximately four levels. "

Don't drink and do stupid stuff, people.

Tragic, yes, but also reassuring is that it wasn't really an "accident" that could just be blind fate and happen to anyone. Don't do stupid things and you'll lessen your chances of dying unexpectedly.

A kid I went to HS with a few years back was doing something similar at Miller Park last year and ended up in the hospital for close to two weeks, not knowing if he was going to be able to walk for most of that time. He is walking and drinking again, watching baseball somewhere in between.

What in God's name is a 25 year old man doing sliding down handrails? The last time I did that I was stil in grade school. This is what happens when Budweiser and stupidity get together. Tragic

I didn't see anything in the article that mentioned alcohol. (?????????)

About a half year ago I read an article about deaths and injuries at ballparks and one that was frequent which still doesn't make it common, was people getting broken necks from people falling on them from the aisles above. Think about that when some drunk is attempting to maneuver behind you.

I'm dying to know what other reason a 25 year old man would have for behaving so recklessly stupidly.

A bet, maybe, but other than that, nah, pretty much booze FTW.
