I'm in trouble here, there are sCrUB fans staying below us.

Some of you know that we have a duplex (top/bottom) that we share with Mary's parents.

Mary and her family are from Chicago Heights, Ill. Her dad has "seen the light" and follows the Brewers since moving up here. He was never a huge Cub fan and elected to follow both the stubs and the White Sox. He is mostly just a baseball fan. My mother-in-law could not care much less about sports, but follows along a bit to talk with her husband and myself. My wife Mary can not stand the Cubs in any way, shape, or form and is a die hard Brewers fan.

Normally, with this series coming to town, there would not be a big to do. This particular time though, Tom and Maggie have friends staying with them for the series. They are staying right here in this very building. They are massive Cub fans who live and breathe the team. They are ball fans and could easily recite the team members, trades, etc. They are luckily for me, not your typical fashionable Cub fan looking for a beer buzz and to be seen.

I've yet to speak with them but they just got here and a conversation is just around the corner. I will have to deal with them for their stay which lasts from today (Monday) until Thursday. They are going to all four games.

I had to run a few errands and arrived back home before they got here at which time my father in law asked I move my car so that the Cub fan car can be put in the garage. I told him that would be a good idea to get the vehicle out of sight.

There won't be arguing or anything going on between myself and the unfortunate fans, but there will be some good natured ribbing most likely a majority of it being from me.

Other than a week long bender or blowing up their car, how can I get through this thing? I am going to have to see Cub shirts, hats, jerseys, etc., walking around in my own yard. Please help.

-I used to have a neat-o signature, but it got erased.

Set up a tent on the front lawn and inform them that is where they will be sleeping. Better yet a couple cots with no roof. Give them a bucket to bathe in. That's what I would do anyway, only if I knew they would take it as a joke though.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Just print off a ton of those red circles with the line through them, and affix said circle to any Cub logo that may appear, be it on their hat or their shirt.

Maybe pick up a goat to roam that yard... they'd feel at home, and you'd save on lawn mowing.

1-0 Jamie.

I left a note on the downstairs door suggesting a nice hotel they could stay at. It's in Wyoming.

I also stated that another Cub win results in the doors being nailed shut so they can't come in.

Now seems an appropriate time to leave an "upper decker" in the other apartment's toilet. However, somehow make sure that it's not your parents who will use the bathroom next.

I live with one too. He usually sucks anyways, but the past couple days he has really sucked. If the Cubs win tonight, I will try my best to avoid him for at least the next 5 days.
