Pick the MVP and Cy Young winners

Please answer this in two parts - who do you think will win the award, and who would you pick if you had a vote?

 

MVP

 

They will pick: Ryan Howard and Dustin Pedroia.

 

I would pick: CC Sabathia and Pedroia.

 

Nobody meant more to their team than CC did - period. I think Josh Hamilton was the best player in the AL this year, but Pedroia absolutely made a difference for the Sox, so I'll go with the guy who's still playing.

 

Cy Young

 

They will pick: Tim Lincecum and Francisco Rodriguez

 

I would pick: Lincecum and Roy Halladay

 

The voters will fall for K-Rod's huge save total - but Mariano Rivera was actually more effective this season, in virtually the same IP. Halladay and Cliff Lee were both amazing, for me, Halladay wins a photo finish.

 

It's very tempting to pick CC for the Cy Young, but Lincecum was equally awesome, so I won't be a total homer.

It's really tempting to pick CC Sabathia. If he had won all of his starts or had been in the NL a month earlier, he probably wins the MVP. I hope he wins.

Hard to even justify anyone else really and the only hands down winner

Should win - Sizemore, Halladay in the AL (much more difficult teams faced overall than Lee), Pujols, Sabathia in the NL (not counting the AL numbers is silly given it is a tougher league).

 

If you are sticking to your guns and saying Sabathia can't because of the split season I'd still pick Santana over Lincecum. If Braun doesn't get hurt I 100% believe he wins the NL MVP.

I wouldnt give either of the big NL awards to Sabathia, MVP because I feel a pitcher does not deserve it, and Cy Young because he really only pitched half the year, just a victim of circumstance.
